I still don't think that JLM script was bad.

It's not. Right up there with most other good superhero stuff.

I really liked the JLM script, I think it would have been a fantastic movie

People can be disappointed about how a movie about one of their favorite characters is being received by the general audience without having to put up with insensitive people joking about them. If you can't respect a fellow comic book lover's opinion....then you are posting at the wrong site and perhaps shouldn't post here at all.

Hr actually did apologize a few pages back C.Lee.

You know I just noticed something. You know how many defenders for this film say "it's edited like a comic book" and "it's too deep"?

These are actually defenses one should defend Ang Lee's Hulk. Lee's Hulk was actually a pretty deep and dark film. Had it come out after Nolan's Batman films, I think audiences would like it more. Plus scenes are literally edited like a comic book.

I still love how they edited it like a comic book. And that theme, man. :mnm:

I said the same relation to Comic Books while reviewing the movie, it's pased like it was a comic, then it goes to tie-ien, then back to comic now with a back up story then to tie in and then they end the overarc.

Yeah; a couple of people at CBR said the same thing...whether that's good or bad is a different thing.

If Snyder had no intention of lightening stuff up I don't expect he will have a choice now. I just hope they don't go too far. I don't think it will be too hard though. People love him now. Batman feels bad about trying to kill him. I'm sure Flash at the very least will be a lighter character for Superman to interact with. Just don't bring him back being a totally different character.

Haha..Yeah, not sure how WB would react to this. Tsujihara seems to think more of the properties, but who knows?

They tried to copy Marvel with GL and that didn't work (although that was just one of the problems). Hopefully they don't learn the wrong lessons from here.

Yeah, sorry about that. I should have went back and edited the post. Anyways, thanks.

I still don't understand why people don't like that movie - Ang Lee's Hulk was a great film.

It was sure as hell ambitious. Too ambitious, possibly.

That stupid split screen comic book panel thing he did drove me f***ing crazy. It made the whole movie an eyesore, IMO. Then when you add in the terrible CGI and all its attempts to be dark and deep... the movie was just a mess. Ang Lee was out of his element and it showed. The only thing I liked about it was Sam Elliott's Thunderbolt Ross.

I'd rather watch BVS a hindered times before I'd ever watch Hulk again. And I HATED BVS.

Actually Ang's Hulk has pretty much the exact same problems this film has. All style and no substance.

I don't care about the style or genre of the film, if you don't have any investment in the characters in the film it's going to fail. I feel like so much of the ending of this film was unearned.

There's a fine line between being deep and thoughtful and being just plain dull and uninspired. Both Snyder and Lee found the other side of that medium.

Ang Lee's HULK had plenty of substance. It wasn't the substance comic book fans wanted.

If there's a problem they share, it's that.

it blows my mind that people think BVS was "all style and no substance"
I could certainly say that about another brand of CBM in particular but not BVS.

I never felt that strongly as have never been much of a Hulk fan, but totally accept your points.

...and I kinda liked The Incredible Hulk.

This probably makes me an awful person.

Tons of people liked The Incredible Hulk. It was a good movie. I didn't like Roid Rage Hulk but that fight between him and Abomination was satisfying. It's weird how no one likes to admit that movie was Marvels first in the MCU. Hopefully SS does what Iron Man did for the MCU. Make you forget about the duds.

Yeah, I kinda liked TIH too, mainly because I loved Norton as Banner. If you could swap out William Hurt's Ross for Elliott's and develop Blomsky a bit more, TIH would have probably been the perfect Hulk movie.

It is weird. I'm always brought up short whenever it's referenced in an MCU flick. I always forget that it's in the canon at all.

Iron Man actually came out first.

I have a soft spot for HULK, but you know you have a problem when the most charismatic and most likeable character in that movie is Thunderbolt Ross. Everybody else either looked exhausted or drugged on cough medicine.

And it was odd that the Hulk was very rarely angry in that movie. He'd just jump around and then stare at things.

Since they changed a lot of the things that were shown in Ang Lee's HULK when they made THE INCREDIBLE HULK...and since the Marvel Studious wasn't actually started when it was made....it isn't considered to be in the MCU.

I believe the general concensus of the order is -

IRON MAN
THE INCREDIBLE HULK
IRON MAN 2
THOR
CAPTAIN AMERICA
AVENGERS

It's tricky because all all but the original Iron Man overlap to some degree. Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor sort of happen at the same time.

The ONLY thing that throws everything off is that post credits scene from the Incredible Hulk.

I meant The Incredible Hulk :) I think because it was Norton and not Ruffalo I automatically divorce it from the rest of the MCU in my head, until somebody reminds me otherwise.

So did any of the comics explain why wayne manor is abandoned and destroyed?
