well like you said some people think Batman and Superman should no kill because it's essential for them.
can't say the same thing about Cap or Iron Man. they don't have no kill codes in comics.

In the comics Iron-Man and Cap have killed but they are not portrayed as killers. They do not barge in and start shooting every moving obstacle. They alteast (mostly) try to catch a villain without killing them. In the comics they only kill if they see no other option.

I think it's just lazy movie writing. In the Netflix series (JJ and Daredevil) which btw are catered to a more mature audience the characters actually struggle with a no kill policy. They atleast try to do the right thing. The Marvel movies (again mostly for a much younger audience!) do not even remotely try to adress this issue.

well it's fine for you to consider those a lazy writing or an issue, that's your opinion but it got nothing to do with whether Marvel getting a free pass or not.
Batman and Superman have no kill codes in comics and some people just want Snyder and the creative team to respect that. whether you agree or not is another matter.

I don't think the Marvel movies are for a younger audience, I would say they are for an all ages audience. Like the comic books they are adapting. This forum has a wide range of users of all ages, it isn't only the 10-18 year old kids singing their praises.

DC on the other hand seems to be catering exclusively to the demographic who consider themselves more mature by owning The Watchman and The Dark Knight Returns, validating their hobby past the age of 15.

And yes I realize we are making wide sweeping generalizations here, it's fun!

All I'm trying to say is real heroes in the movies should strive not to kill. Like they do in the comics. Marvel and DC alike. I guess we all should be in agreement about that.

And it' s not Fair to treat the MCU different then the DCU, like some members here do. Especially since the MCU is for a wider range of younger age kids and adults. Afterall Cap doesn't even swear in the MCU..

It all depends on what the character is, their motivations, their methods, and their code of ethics. A Punisher that doesn't kill would be just as awful an adaptation as a Batman that does.

I can agree with that.

Iron Man has been shown to be a pretty lethal dude in the MCU. it was odd to see him pick up the gun in Iron Man 3 out of armor and use it, but not necessarily out of character.

I would have liked to see a scene in one of his movies similar to the final confrontation with Mallen in the original Extremis arc by Ellis and Granov. Tony fights Mallen to the death, but repeatedly warns Mallen to not force his hand, and you can tell Tony is not happy about having to do it.

@kahran. That's why I said real or goody heroes. I gett why Wolverine, Punisher or even Hulk can't have a no killing rule.

@oc stat. Exactly like I said they Are not killers in their comics. They actually lose sleep if they somehow had to kill someone. In the movies not so much and everybody seems fine with it.

No one outside of Spider-Man really have a no-killing rule it seems. Daredevil I guess is another but he crosses that line every so often.

maybe you have different definition but for me killer is someone who kills bad guys who doesn't pose immediate threat.
so for me Batman in BvS also is not a killer.
although i was dissapointed with thier choice i don't have problems with the fact that he killed in BvS.

It's not a no killing rule perse, but more being okay with killing if there is absolutely no other option. That is the comic rule.

In the movies it' s justified to kill in a fight or in defence even when there are many other options.
That ' s a very Big difference.

To be frank I think Bats and Supes killing are the LEAST rproblems with this movie.I dont understand why everyone keeps harping on this minor flaw

I think it all lies with the director. How much one chooses to emphasize said killing.

In the Marvel films they don't tread on it but simply make quick buisness of it and move on.

Batman in BvS kind of relishes in it. I didn't mind it but the smug and disgusted yet accomplished look Batman gives to the camera after wiping out those henchmen in the Batwing was awesome but definitely lends ammunition to those who say that Snyder tends to relish in the hyper violence when he may need to just keep it moving.

In Cap's case, he is an active combat soldier fighting a war against enemy combatants. Not only is killing justified in that situation, but not doing so would be a dereliction of duty.

BvS is the most gorgeous CBM I've ever seen. Visuals are simply breathtaking.
