All Things DCEU News, Discussion, and Speculation - Part 2

Hard to tell, they've been showing us a lot of the same fight scene moments in all three trailers.

It really doesn't matter and i don't care. What matters is that you can't claim the majority dislikes the movie because you don't have data to back you up. As far as comparing movies with each other, that depends on so many different factors that it is absolutely useless to do it and proves nothing. You absolutely can't compare Batman v Superman with, let's say, Ant-Man. You just can't. The expectations are completely different, the preconceptions are different, the emotional investment is different. So how can you compare them? Do you think Thor or Iron Man were ever under the same pression as BvS?

Now, if you can provide me with any factual data that proves the majority truly doesn't like this movie, i'd be happy to take a look at it and change my views on the subject.

Iron Man had waaaaaaaaaaaay more pressure than BvS. If you wanna believe that BvS had a favorable reception, have at it.

Trailer was good. The scene with young Diana being told about people's history and shown weapon she'll become synonymous with was lifted right out of the first Thor, though.

Overall thought it was good. I Liked the music. The intro with young Diana, and the bit with her training where nice, but other than that a bunch of footage we've seen before. Nothing to get me really pumped about the movie than I already am.

But at least nothing to spoilery.

I'm not a math expert and don't pretend to be, but 27% positive reviews are nowhere near 63%

He means the 63% audience score rating.

Which if you compare it to the last 10 years of movies is on the low end. The only ones in the 60s or below are, Suicide Squad, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Apocalypse, F4ntastic Four, Green Lantern, Spider-Man 3 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Not exactly the creme of the CBM crop.

Iron Man didn't have the same pressure from the audience and critics because 1) There were no precedents 2) Not that many people cared about Iron Man.

Now, with Batman and Superman, everything is a major deal. Because these characters are so popular and they mean so much for so many people that almost everyone has something to say about the way they should be portrayed. My poor grandma, who doesn't even know what DC is, told me that to her Chris Reeves will always be the only Superman. This before watching Man of Steel. This is just a glimpse of how human mind can work sometimes.

Batman, unlike Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man, has strong precedents. People have seen amazing Batman movies and they've fell in love for certain actors who played the role. In this case, it's always normal for the expectations and the standards to be very, very, very high.

That's what i mean by pressure. And you can't honestly believe that two movies with completely different expectations associated are going to be judged in the exact same way.

If Iron Man sucked or didn't make any money, MCU might not exist. Everything was pretty much riding on it, especially since Hulk probably lost a little bit of money.

If BvS didn't make any money and the DCEU was cancelled, they'd reboot Batman in three years, maybe throw Superman a bone or two.

The future of the whole new studio depended of the success of IM. That's pressure on a much bigger level than BvS ever had. The DCEU can still reboot (and should asap, imo) after BvS, MS never had that freedom. It was all-in from the very first minute

User reviews.

I stated that specifically in my post. I've just added 2 new members to my ignore list, I don't have time to deal with people who know math but pretend they don't so they can hold onto their ideas.
So about WW!?

Okay so I think WW looks visually beautiful but is anybody else worried that there are really no scenes of Gal actually delivering lines?

Wonder Woman looks very cool. Just hope the trailer didn't show too much.

Cavill/MOS all over again.

Island scenes in the first act look good but the rest doesn't.

On a somewhat related note: The new WW trailer just dropped and it's just more of the Snyder-esque super slow mo BS. Jenkins once was a pretty good director, sad that she adept her style to fit Snyder's aesthetics

The "Snyderesque super slo-mo" is a staple of superhero movies, and action movies in general, now.

One wonders why...

Probably because it's not visually striking and people hate it.

Solid, if not 'spectacular' 3rd trailer for WW, I think because, what we've seen up till now has been so :wow:, this one was more measured and giving more background to her.

For me, it looks like they've done a fine job on the film, can't wait for it.

Still not watching it, I'm going in as dark as possible, don't even want a potential spoiler.

Don't worry, there aren't any 'perceived' spoilers or what would be perceived spoilers.

That's good to hear but I'd sill fatter not see anything so I can experience the scenes themselves in the cinema the first time too.

It was a perfectly serviceable trailer, but it personally did nothing for me. Maybe due to previous experience with trailers for the other DCEU movies that promised so much, but delivered so little. There was nothing particularly fresh or innovative in there. It all felt a bit same old, same old. I fear Logan's brilliant levels of orginality may ruin most other CBMs for me this year.

I don't know. The film just doesn't look interesting.

Yeah I liked this trailer as it was a bit more story based. Looking forward to the movie.

This movie needs to be made and hopefully it's well executed. But it feels like I know how everything is going to play out in this film before I see it.
