This is good for Johns in the long run, and not a demotion per se. His producing deal allows him to have more creative input in the films he wants to do.

It gives him more room to put his stamp on GLC, WW2, and possible Aquaman and Shazam sequels. And it allows him not to oversee something he's not passionate about, i.e. Zack Snyder's last two DC films.

The fact he's still writing for DC on the comics side suggests it was his decision to step down as CCO,

Great meeting. My father started in this business with Tim Burtons #Batman, soon will be full circle. #DC @TheDCUniverse

What if he's our new Batman? Would people be okay with that? I would... I think.

Fanboys would lose their sh** but I would be okay with it.

never found him to be a particularly good actor at all

basically the equivalent of people wanting Scott Adkins for Batman

Eh... He's certainly above Scott Adkinks in the acting department.

DC has no shortage of martial arts characters so he could be a lot of people. Maybe Raptor if they're using him in the Nightwing movie.

Why was Lewis Tan meeting with DC?

Are they going to get rid of John's position or are they giving it to someone else?

Which one?
Hamada's solely in charge as an "overseer"
Lee and DiDio are taking over his position on the comics side.

I'd love for Tan to get cast as Nightwing. SDCC is shaping up to be very exciting this year, it seems like DC is finally pulling their boats back into line. Except for the weird double Joker movies thing...

Sounds like he's just going back to being a writer and producer rather than leaving the company. TBH It's probably better for him in the long run because he was overstretching trying to be an exec, writing TV episodes, producing and writing things like Doomsday Clock.

Yeah, the man is a brilliant writer. We Will get a Decent Green Lantern movie and a new Shazam comic book out of this:yay:

I don't know who the hell this guy is

He tagged The new DC online tv service twitter handle in that message

What a relief.

I just found out that the guy is only 31... way too young for the DCEU Batman. He'll probably play a villain on the Titans show.

I know he’s suggested for everything but I wouldn’t mind Idris Elba as Batman at all

Normally I'd trust Deadline, but not with this. It's not based on anything other than a stale rumor. Until there's a separate article or press release about it, it's still up in the air.
