I think that whoever handled the special effects for Watchmen did a fantastic job with Doctor Manhattan. If he wasn't glowing blue, but instead had a skin-tone, he could easily pass for an ordinary human being.

The film Beowulf from a few years ago had Uncanny Valley written all over it, though.

Can somebody tweak the color on the Dr. Manhattan shot to a skin tone. I'm curious to how it looks... I'm a little skeptical.

Well he dimmed his light for a show in the movie, so this might work.

Edit: Never mind, I see what you mean now. Normal skin tone and not blue.

Excuse the bad paint skills for the eyes. :cwink:

He looks like an intense Clive Owen. :woot:

Dunno what people are worried about. I'm pretty sure close-ups will be Cavill.

Even though I'm not a big fan of General Zod. I hope Zod and Faora don't die at the end of the film.

Zod gonna be so badass in mos.The villains that come after him probably won't be as good. Most superman villains overrated.Zod is underrated and will shine in mos.We likely gonna see everything you can see in a superman movie as far as action goes. The only way they can kill them is by kryptonite are take away their powers and kill them.

Just think, guys, with the release of The Hobbit in just about a couple of months, we are going to be getting (hopefully) our first real look at our Superman. I'm so anxious for the next few months to pass so that marketing officially begins.

Yup.

I really need to stop watching the CC footage over and over, its not making the wait any easier.

Sometimes I wish that MOS was the film that had the Opening May 2013 Spot, with Iron Man 3 being pushed into the June one...

.....and to think that the original release date was this December at one time.

Indeed; by all accounts, we would have had 2 trailers by now, along with several official images released and interviews for the film as well.

I'd like to think that this extended period will only make the film better, especially since Snyder won't have to rush in order to get the visuals right and I've wondered at times if the extended period is what allowed Zimmer to take on the project since I don't think he would have had enough time to do MOS if it was coming out this winter.

That's a fantastic picture of Shannon. What's it from? The dude is so naturally scary, creepy and intense.

Does anyone else get an Orson Welles vibe from Michael Shannon at all?

I'm pretty sure sony imageworks did the CG for watchmen. I think its all about how the directors use it more so than the frequency of its use.

Snyder has great visuals in his films, hopefully that holds true for this project as well.

do you think we'll get anything new @ NYCC??

Sony Imageworks was the main vendor handling the biggest shots. They were responsible for Doc Manhatten
They are a hit and miss though. Their work can be quite good ( Spiderman , Watchmen)but sometimes frustratingly bad ( Green Lantern)

I was about to comment on how WB could theoretically release both Man of Steel and Paramount-distributed Captain America in the same DVD/Blu-ray set further down the road (considering WB and Paramount inked a 3-year home media distribution deal).

Then I noticed that the agreement excluded Paramount's tentpole franchises like Indiana Jones, Star Trek and Transformers (it doesn't mention their distrib deal with Marvel Studios for the first four MCU films). The thought would've been nice, having both DC and Marvel superheroes fighting for truth, justice and the American way.
