Yes I know any complaints about the marketing of this film means that I want nothing but spoilers. They are marketing this film like it is a sequel like they can just throw out the same pictures over and over again and it's exciting. Yes I am *****ing and I'm not pretending that I'm not but some on here are acting like I have just said for two years that this marketing is terrible and the worst ever. I haven't. said that, I said and stick to my opinion that so far it has been lackluster. Ofcourse it can redeem itself if they actually start marketing the movie two months before it's release date but why cut it that close. I just don't see the marketing building for the film. We have gotten no non behind the scenes photos of Lois Lane and the rest of the supporting cast at the Daily Planet or anything. That is all I'd like to see. I loved the trailer and liked the pics but some truly new pics should be in order. I'm not asking for The Amazing Spider style marketing where they show you everything and if this were a sequel I'd be fine with the marketing so far but it isn't so I'm not.

WB did a lot of experimenting with Batman Begins and SUperman Returns. didnt work IMO.

there is no reason for this with MOS. they know what works and they know when they had good positive results.

love the pics, BUT (< there is the but ) I think some shots of Metropolis, lois, perry, and the kents are in order.
A SB spot wouldnt hurt either.
Also, a sample of the score needs to be released, maybe 10 seconds at the most...whether WB likes it or not folks WILL be comparing this score to the williams one.

I kind of agree with you and kind of don't.

I mean, I agree that they aren't really giving us much new, and those pics aren't exactly jaw droppingly shocking.

Thing is, (and I never would have admitted this a while ago)...the closer we get to the movie's release, the more grateful I am that we haven't seen much. That they have been so subtle with the marketing. That all we have of this movie is a vague impression, a sense of the tone, and a few choice clips/images that don't give too much away but just give us and the GA a little taste.

It's refreshing, and it's made me feel a heck of a lot more like this movie is going to be an experience that won't be so tainted by the internet :)

I guess a lot of that is because the less they show, the less people have to ***** about and tear apart :funny:

All I can say is that I hope it's damn flawless CGI :)

It's Snyder, it's gonna be damn flawless CGI.

So are we absolutely, 100% positively sure that we are NOT getting a Super Bowl spot?

El Mayimbe says 'I think so' when I asked him whether MOS was getting a Super Bowl TV spot.

Batman Begins had a Superbowl spot and it was ****ing epic, this needs that same exposure level.

I just want to say that I like the pics, because they reveal just enough without spoiling things before the next trailer.

I'm not surprised about the CGI thing. That's the tool of the modern filmmaker. Hopefully it looks better than Green Lantern's.

It was a solid ad. And four months later, when BB was released, the movie earned a “strong but unimpressive” $49M on its opening weekend.

I hate to be one of those people but I'm not excited about those pics. They aren't really anything new.

Okay I give up. Call me when WB decides to show something that isn't a glorified screengrab.

Agreed except that we get to see some of Krypton in the Jor-El pic, but even that seems to little.

The CGI in the trailers looks fantastic so far and they still have some months to play with it.

On the flipside, look what the IRON MAN Super Bowl spot did for that movie's hype.

And yeah, I'll say it: the new picture of Superman is cool...but I wish the read was brighter. It's too dark for my tastes.

We're getting a Superbowl Ad schedule soon I think, so that's when we will get official confirmation.

I would be worried if I didn't know Snyder is one of the few who know exactly what to use CGI for and exactly what effect the use of which would entail.

We are hardly going to get creepy, waxy CG Supes from Returns.

I don't think that's his cgi suit. When he get arrested they''ll take his armor away from him leaving him with the black suit that's under his armor.

And when he escape he'll make another suit of armor which will be the cgi suit. The description awhile back said he had different armor on earth then what he had on krypton.

Fair enough. But that spot featured a good mix of Transformers-esque imagery, stuff blowing up and tongue-in-cheek humor from RDJ - almost perfect for the Super Bowl demographic. :cwink: Also - the movie was slated for an early May release.

Now if WB’s strategy is to hold back on a lot of the “money shots” until closer to June, that leaves the arty, atmospheric, choir-music approach of the teaser and 1st trailer. And that might not play so well between Budweiser and Cheetos.

Seconded.

*not to mention he has the best cgi companies in the business.

Interesting. Usually i would be scared as i think whenever you have the chance to do something practical or use wires you should, but based on the trailer the spx look great so whatever.
