Is the resemblance to Christopher Reeve coincidence or planned?

Well, to each his own...

Superman for all seasons is one of the most beautiful illustrated comics of Superman`s history, imo.

Nothing Gary Frank ever did is going to capture the majesty that is the kents looking at the sunset in that double page in the spring issue.

"Yes, it’s Superman, strange visitor from the planet McNugget, with powers and abilities far below those of average chubby men! Superman, who can change the course of mighty rivers...by sitting in them! Bend steel with his bare ass, and who, disguised as Clark Kent, mild-mannered contestant for The Biggest Loser, fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and that Pizza Hut down the street!"

Yeah, his Superman's terrible.

That looks awesome to me. People can accept the European style of drawing here in the US, i guess.

Everything has to be like Michael Bay does. All flashy things and no substance, no amazing storytelling...

What, having characters with super-strength actually looking like they aren't in danger of getting diabetes = Flash and no Substance?

Dont you understand is that his style isnt supposed to look realistic? Do you watch cartoons and complain the feet or the eyes are too big too?

No, because they're well-drawn.

There's 'unrealistic art style', but then there's 'draw bigger to look tough'.

I like Tim Sale. I do.

But his Superman looks like the PEnguin's ******ed henchman, who decided to wear a Superman outfit.

-The series' first storyline will explore the origins of Superman's costume, as it evolves from a look that includes jeans and work boots to a new look: a suit of battle armor that pays tribute to his Kryptonian past.

I was right! :woot:

Yeaaa, when I got back into comic/graphic novel collecting last year,
I kept hearing about For All Seasons so i wiki'd it and when I saw this image...

...I literally laughed out loud at it.
Just because I was expecting something a lot more realistic or, at least, something in the vein of what I'd come across previously.

Granted I've only seen 3 images from the book so I wouldn't judge as a whole, but that picture is ridiculous looking in my opinion.

I agree that Sale's work fits Batman more. But you should do yourself a favor and read the book anyways, it's a really good Superman story.

my only complaint about Frank is that he makes every character look buck-toothed. I think it's because he neglects the bottom row of teeth in most of his mouths. I feel like I'm reading a comic book full of woodchucks or something. But he's still one of my favorite pencillers working today.

Now here's a question that really needs some serious contemplation and I hope Snyder takes into consideration. When Superman attacks in this film, should he punch the hell out of them, or punch the **** out of them?

Except that's one of the most beautiful illustrations of Superman ever. Check the colors, the farm, the symbolism. People have no taste nowadays.

It's a beautiful illustration in terms of colour and the backdrop, hugely let down by the fact that Superman looks like TinTin's bodybuilder cousin who can't open his eyes.
