Left the thread on page 12 last night, came back and it was talk of what is sci-fi and fantasy. Now it's page 24 and I skipped all pages in the interval because I know there's no new content there. Just more arguing about nothing. Love this thread.

It WB's fault. Give us something to talk about and we will.

Unfortunately ,WB promotes their films on their own schedule .

comparing this movie to the last one, Superman Returns, i will say this about the security on this film...

they're doing a much better job security-wise than they did with Superman Returns... i remember the many pictures that were leaked for Superman Returns.
this movie only had one.

Yeah, but the video logs from Singer were nice .
It probably increased the anticipation for SR though.

I'm presently watching the deleted voyage to Krypton scene from Superman Returns. Man, it is such a well put together scene of great atmosphere and cinematography; it should've been on the film.

My guess is that that Singer thought it would have been hard to segue into the semi- satirical scene with Spacey and Noel Neil after the rather grim Journey To Krypton Sequence .

It totally is WB's fault. Look at the reach of WB, TV, radio, magazines, it's a big company that can be pushing the movie on several fronts. One would think this close to a new Superman movie all the WB TV channels would be tripping over themselves to cram any Superman related content they have on air.

Look at Iron Man, there's a new poster, bit of film, tid bit every couple of days. Makes me jealous as a lifelong DC fan to see them not being as aggressive as Marvel. You know there are radio commercials on sports radio stations for Marvel? I heard commercials for Age Of Ultron, Superior Spider Man, and a bunch of other events on the radio.

No hate for Marvel, in fact I love Iron Man. I just see their publicity machine rolling and think how a huge entity like WB doesnt have Superman out there more.

We desperately need something new, this is just boring

Yeah leaving that and the Luthor subplot out were strange decisions. Not to mention the scene where Clark opens his shirt realises his costumes at the Planet. I also wish they'd left in some of the funny scenes involving Lex and Kitty.

I'd have rather they kept in the scenes of Clark in Smallville, seeing how the world didn't stop because he was gone.

I wonder, with MOS looming, if we'll get a revised Blu-Ray transfer for Returns. The one they currently have on retail looks, by all accounts, horrendous. It is an antiquated transfer ripped straight from it's HD-DVD counterpart (remember those?!) with a smaller bitrate.

Is there any legit news on the next trailer and when it'll drop?

I know we're all repeating the same things, but the empty void that sorrounds this film regarding promos and marketing at this point is very strange. Not that of a blockbuster movie. But very Nolan-esque. Reminds me of Inception. The hype really started once the film released in theaters. Seems odd that a superman flick is parallel to that dynamic at this point

I'd love an extended cut with all the deleted scenes.

I really wish when Singer had made it with more action, I think if he had Lex use actual Alien tech to make weapons it would have made the ending far more exciting. I think the films problems all start after the Plane sequence, it's not tight enough and the climatic ending is drawn out with the "death" scene. WBs should've demanded Singer put more action in when they read the script.

Leave SR alone, not a good thing when your wanting studios to interfere.

Not always a bad thing though, that film severely lacked a Supervillain and ill express my opinions if I want to thank you.

The SR transfer is pretty bad and to be honest the STM blu-ray transfer is medicore at best as well.

The worst thing about the STM transfer is definitely the curtain behind Krypton exploding.

Superman Rerurns Blu Ray transfer always looked kinda grainy to me.

Because it costs WB too much to spend a nickel putting promo shots out there, and we are just hungry whiney complaining spoiled little fans if we dare say otherwise. :o :whatever:
