I'm thinking 600-700 mil is what WBs will be hoping for

I have no idea what they expect but I'm hoping for at least 575 mil. that sounds like a good round number to build on..I of course hope it makes more tho.

All I know is I hope Man of Steel is a box office hit for the sake of the franchise.

Hell for the sake of every DC property outside of Batman. JL's development is essentially riding on the success of MOS. Which makes it odd why their marketing has been so poor?

If Superman can't sell a film for WB there's no other (non-batman) DC property that will, at least in their minds i'm sure.

You have to figure with IMAX and 3D and all now for MOS. It will make at least 150-200 mill more domestically than SR did at the BO.

WB's needs to make sure MOS makes good money at the BO internationally/overseas though.

775-850 million WW is realistic. Anything over that would be a nice biiiig surprise indeed.

With an excellent word of mouth shortly prior to the film like Skyfall had, I think this can get 1B

IF, and this is a BIG IF, if MOS did manage to make 1 Billion at the end of its box office run, then that would be a feat on its own because it would be the first superhero origin film, let alone the first film of a starting franchise within the genre, to have done so.

But, it wouldnt be the first reboot to do it , and it is a reboot .

Spider-Man would probably adjust to a billion.

And MOS has no chance at a billion, people are setting themselves up for disappointment.

I read that in the novelization, but do we know that it was filmed?

Yes infact on YouTube someone had the video with the dialogue of Lex saying to Superman it was him that had sent him off to look for a world that wasn't there.

You're saying that it should make at least $350 million domestically? That's just too high of a bar. ~$500-600 million WW is a good benchmark.

Please..oh please Lord, let us have some new and exciting materials to see regarding MOS next week.lol

The entire Nolan trilogy is a reboot of the Batman Franchise .

Batman Begins was THE Batman reboot. The other two films were sequels to Batman Begins. Nice try.

BUT, the first film in that didnt even sniff a billion..

The entire Nolan Trilogy is a reboot of Batmans history Certainly in the case of the Jokers history in TDK.

BUT, the first film in that didnt even sniff a billion..

Exactly which means there is no billion dollar reboot. TDKR was the end of the Nolan franchise until further notice, so I'd hardly call the entire trilogy a reboot.

but the entire franchise had to start with just one film, B.B., and it did not reach a billion.

You guys can disagree, but the reboot didnt end with BB.
The first movie was Batman Begins. It didn't make a billion. Man of Steel is the first movie in a possible trilogy. If it were to make a billion it'd be the first origin film to do so.

Is that really so hard to comprehend?
