You do realize Nolan is only producing MOS and Goyer only did the story, not the screenplay, of TDKR, right?

Yeah what's your point? The fact us Goyer helped with the story on Rises he and Nolan had a block so Goyer thankfully picked up some Superman co it's and decided to share it with Nolan. Therefore I'm glad they had a block. Nolan put in the call to Robinov if he didn't do that no movie. You'll also find if you read my posts how I think Goyer and Snyder deserve credit and in my opinion more so than Nolan but the fact us Nolan had the power to get this thing rolling.

:wow: What would Superman think?

WB seem to be very confident despite their 5 box office failures already this year.

They do have MOS, Pacific Rim and the Billion-dollar guaranteed Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug.

I think they deserve to be confident. Those three movies are going to be huge successes for them, I feel.

You seem to forget that Skyfall started with a slow marketing campaign that only increased close to the film date. Hmm... It was also the first Bond film in 4 years.

The Avengers was also marketed slowly until it snowballed in the last few months.

Neither films gave a big push until the end.

The reason Singer's movie was poorly marketed was because WB was in a bind. They were expecting a superhero film, like BB or Spider-man, but they got a character-driven film with little action. Almost every full length trailer tried to show action by showing the Plane rescue only.

MOS - in the first full trailer alone, I can see at least 4 different action sequences,, and I KZnOW there's more.

I want Pacific Rim to do well, but my man del Toro doesn't have the best track record when it comes to Box Office.

I think PR is the right movie for him. Giant robots and monsters beating each other up seems like it will have a lot more reach amongst the GA than his previous movies.

You do realize that Skyfall even had blogs for fans right? They were all over the fans last year with Skyfall and tying in the anniversary. Go look at a Bond fansite.

Amount of years between Bond's is irrelevant. There was a similar break between DAD and CR, and it didn't crush the box office. Skyfall adjusted for Inflation, is I believe in the top 5, if not top 3 Bonds. It crossed a billion without 3D.

Oh, okay, sorry. The way I read that, it came off like you were saying "Good thing Goyer and Nolan didn't care about TDKR, otherwise we wouldn't get this" which left me a bit confused especially since Nolan isn't exactly making the film as much as getting others to say yes to it. Sorry again, I was half paying attention to Kill Bill.

Ha ha no worries, infact sorry if I came across abit touchy there. I'm just so tnse waiting for news on MOS :oldrazz:

But that's my point. It was the Anniversary of Bond on film. Take away that, and you're left with a very standard marketing campaign. What were the highlights? Bond at the Olympics? Directed by Danny Boyle, Craig is Bond, NO references to Skyfall. The soundtrack? Very popular, but More focused on Adele.

People are very sentimental. The truth is that Daniel Craig's best Bond, by FAR is Casino Royale. Skyfall is nowhere near as fantastic. Watch it again in 5 years. Case in point : DAD, out in 2002, 40 year Bond Anniversary. There was HUGE publicity, lots of old film nods, lots of acclaim - now everybody looks back wondering WTF happened!!!

First time I watched Die Another Day I was wondering WTF happened....that was a horrible movie from the word go. I don't care how many nods to the old films it had...that was a ****** movie

We all are, we all are.

If WB doesn't release something (come on, The Wolverine has 3 or 4 posters already, give us one more) soon, we'll huff and we'll puff and we'll...

Or at least, I will.

You get to dismiss this why exactly? It is all about brand awareness. They did things for the hardcores (videoblogs), the nostalgic (Bond 50), and the general audiences (trailers, Adele and Olympics).

They even did something for the film fanatics with the IMAX trailer.

Not arguing the films merits. I love it, but I'd take Casino Royale all day, everyday. Never liked DAD, but I love Skyfall, even with its few flaws. The last act is probably my favorite in Bond history.

Well, speaking of anniversaries..2013 is the 75th Anniversary of Superman in the original "Action Comics #1" from 1938..
