True or not I don't see a problem with that S line at all

Oh there is no problem. I didn't mean that anyone wouldn't like the line itself I meant that of the trailer description. But really it's too vague to get excited or concerned either way. Like I said,
we do know the S IS a family crest and if they have also made it a symbol of hope, well, great!

Well I don't. I don't like lines in movies that are that direct. Something like that should be more subtle, more implied.

If someone asks him about the S or implies that he has an S on his chest, how else can he explain what it really is?

Definitely agree

Someone shouldn't directly ask him. I'd prefer someone to somehow just realise what it means.

But you have to look at the approach of the movie its Superman in the real world. I'm pretty sure if it really happened someone would ask him why he has an S on his chest.

At this point he could say the \S/ is a symbol of whatever, as long as its NEW newz.
Hope, family crest, it doesn't matter to me which. Maybe its both.

Is anyone as excited as me that we have an actual comics fan as a director?!

ZS on Grant Morrison: "Yeah, absolutely. And by the way, I’m a fan of Grant, of All-Star Superman, I think it’s cool, although I’d say… that’s the big version of Superman, you know that’s a stylized world. But awesome, and very sort of telling [about the character].

yes, Zack was an AWESOME choice. awesome. yeah.

That Synopis seems to imply that Clark Suits up to protect the World from being Destroyed.I cant see the threat of World destruction coming from Zod-Zod is a Conqueror-So it has to be something else.

So heres my Theory-Earth is dying. It is about to suffer the same fate as Krypton-Natural disasters are now rampant around the planet, chaos everywhere the World needs a hero to save it from its destruction and thats when Superman shows up to save the Planet.

No, we've heard multiple times from multiple places that Clark suits up because of the threat from Zod.

Yeah. I do want Clark to be on the "verge" of becoming Superman before Zod shows up, though.

Definitely agree

And that right there is my problem with the movie overall. What can be done with Batman should not be attempted with Superman.

Sure you can. A realistic world is just that. The fantastical elements are only fantastical if they are relative to something not so.

so superman should'nt be treated with a tone so that the audience can relate to him:huh:

they aint grounding his costume and his powers or anything just the way his character is approached in a non stylistic way

"Sure you can. A realistic world is just that. The fantastical elements are only fantastical if they are relative to something not so."

EXACTLY! That's why the ship in Dark Knight Rises felt out of place to me, because the environment isn't supposed to be fantasy. That's why there isn't a sense of awe in many superhero movies, because they take place in a world that is exaggerated.

But set up the fantasy elements early on, and have them join the "real world" and the sense of imagination is amplified. I've yet to see a true superhero movie that looks like a documentary. I think it'll be cool to see.

Don't know if this has been posted before but, I was just watching the trailer and in that point where the scene switches from that close-up of clark's face (bearded, lifting something, mouth open) to that superman and zod going at each other in mid air.... if you go frame-by-frame, you can actually see zod uses the building to jump towards superman (you can even see the trail of dust he leaves behind him). This could mean Zod and Faora can't fly... maybe because they haven't been on earth as long as Superman?:oldrazz:

:wow: Yep I saw that frame by frame, Zod does actually leap off the building towards Spuerman...Oh man that kinda sucks, i really wanted to see Zod and Superman fight like Neo and Agent Smith at the end of the Matrix Revolutions :waa: I wonder if anybody can get a screen grab of that precise moment

I hope Zod figures how to fly in the end battle, again that makes me wonder if that shot of Supes and Zod colliding is from the final battle:huh:

I love the look of the scene from the trailer where the object slams into the building. It looks like it's from Chronicle, in that it looks like it's real. Rather than with the Avengers where everything is so clearly fake which creates less spectacle.

It's great that he loves All-Star but that quote also makes me kind of sad, the bolded part. :csad: Because that's exactly the kind of ´´version`` of Superman I'd love to see on the big screen in this day and age. A huge, epic adventure. Go big or go home. Sadly, I don't think we'll get that with MOS or any of it's potential sequels. Too bad.

But I do like that he says it's very telling of the character and that they used the line from it in the Jor-El version of the teaser. Makes me happy that they turn to GM's work for inspiration. He is one of the few writers of the modern era who truly ´´gets`` Superman. IMO anyway ;)

He probably means in relation to things like birthright and earth one. Looking at his fortress and all that rainbow coat wearing scientist stuff and the time travel and the atlas and other Greek characters and so on and so forth. Morrison is pretty great(especially with lex) but I agree with zack when he speaks on "stylization". It's very much Kubrick as opposed to Cameron in some ways.
It might be a bit much for a contemporary superman movie.

I'm just glad to hear he read it and liked it. I'm convinced the only superman Singer has seen in that of the Donner verse.

Yeah, a Superman movie in that style would not appeal to the general audience enough to make back it's high budget. It works great in the comics and animated movies though.

The Caped Wonder trailer description was vague but at least they gave us a supposed line from the movie. We can compare it to the real thing like when the guy posted the "What was I supposed to do? Let them die?" line from the last trailer.

RIP Roger Ebert. I thought he gave us one of the more accurate reviews of Superman Returns.

We already have a way to relate to Superman. It's called Clark.

Conversation between Warners and Singer.

Warners: So how many Superman comic books have you read?
Singer: There are comic books?
Warners: YOU'RE HIRED!

Why shouldn't it be? The film looks to have gotten it right by doing exactly that, so its abit silly to say what's right for Batman isn't for Superman. If its good and works then they will have been right.

Eh. He probably suits up prior to Zod's arrival. Or at least knowledge of it.

And when I say this, I mean we'll see him find the fortress and get the suit prior to Zod's arrival, we just won't see him become "Superman" until then.
