Lol, I like how you went out of your way to even manip it, I feel so special, especially when words would have sufficied.![]()
No, that is Superman!![]()
this should explain a few things...
No, that is Superman!
It's an alternate reality, and an imaginary story. Aren't they all?
It's just a stylistic choice. I find the Earth-Two \S/ easier to draw, myself. I can't draw the standard \S/ unless I draw the negative spaces like Byrne says he does. Not that I am any sort of artist at all, but I'm sure most of us have doodled the \S/...hopefully not when we're supposed to be taking notes in class, however....
Yeah me too. Warner Bros. handling of the DC animated films is just spectacular. I still need to see All-Star Superman.
I'd also like to see some kind of adaptation for Earth One in the future. That was a really well told story.
Snyder was quoted saying that they're making this movie as if there had been no Superman movies prior to this one. plus, this is WB's last chance at a successful Superman franchise. so no this isn't an alternate reality.....or if it is, then it's as alternate of a reality as Batman Begins was.
I cannot help but shake this feeling this movie will end up like TIH.
I hope not. I want this movie to be great and really it with me as a fan and the audience.
Right now the thing that i'm worried most is the overall tone that'll be presented for this film.
Granted, I don't want anything as cheesy or campy like films such as Spiderman 3, GL, or the Fantastic Four Series, but I don't want MOS to be as dark and grim like Snyder's previous films (Watchmen, 300).
If anything, I'd say that the perfect tone for this film would be something similar to the likes of Captain America, where it has a good balance of everything.
If Superman is presented as being too dark of a person, then what's the point of calling him as that beacon of hope that he's been known to be?
I know what you mean, but there just hasn't been enough news regarding the story to know one way or the other. I do have that same worry given Snyder is the director and Nolan is responsible for the story.
I haven't really liked anything about the news regarding this movie other than the Kent's, Jor-El, and Zod Casting (not my choice of villian, but at least they got someone I like).
As I mentioned, I hope this movie knocks everyone's socks off, but I worry the fact it is a complete reboot not long after SR, and some of the potential choices with the films, could have a TIH affect on the audience.
Unfortunately, as Superman fans, our biggest problem is that IF this film DOESN'T meet expectations, then there's a STRONG chance that we may NEVER see a Superman film for the next decade or so again. I mean, while TIH may not have worked out the way that Marvel Studios had hoped for, at least Hulk fans get to see the character (within the same continuity) again in the Avengers, so even if he never gets a sequel/solo adventure again, he can still appear in the Avengers.
Not so much the same case on our side I'm afraid. Films like Captain America has proven that critics and GA's wouldn't mind seeing heroes who aren't Anti-Hero like, or are inspired by angst or some other type of drama to be heroic.
Superman was THAT hero that was the type of person who did good things simply because he had a compassionate heart. In fact, that's what makes Superman one of the rare heroes in not only DC Comics, but out of a lot of fictional heroes.
I really hope that in their process to "modernize" Superman, that they don't take away that from him.
I'm hoping that Cavill's words of Superman being presented in the film as who the character really is was accurate.
If this movie fails, or pulls a SR and does well but doesn't meet expectations, than the only way fans have a chance of seeing Superman again on-screen in the near future is if WB gets a bug up their buts to make a JLA film after Nolan's Batman trilogy is finished.
The only problem there is WB has failed to make a successful DC hero film outside of Batman and Superman, to a lesser degree.
I think WB is very Bi-Polar when it comes to the Superman character so I'm not sure what to expect. I only hope for the best. The Superman character is such an important part to my life
Agreed; I mean Superman is the hero that really started it all, and yet the way that his character has been handled, in both films and comics as of late, it's just been less than stellar, and the character deserves SO MUCH more.
And in regards to the photo; first off, Cavill looks very badass as Superman there; like the kind of person that most criminals (regular or not) would not want to get pissed off.
Be that as it may, I'm wondering if it was the best decision to release Superman's first photo with him posed as that.
I've been reading a lot of comments as of late of people saying that in terms of pose and expression, it's not exactly the best way to give a good first impression of the hero.
Comments such as, not looking as the heroic Superman that people could wind up trusting, no larger than life feeling, and even to the point (which i somewhat agree with) on him looking more like a villain than a hero in the film.
