I'm not on that band-waggon at all. Must be an age-thing. :oldrazz:

I'll just blame everybody if it fails. :woot:

But yeah, I guess no one has the full picture of Nolan's exact involvment other than producing. I sure hope he put his edgy finger on Goyer's take and also helped with the substance and the drama.

Well we will find out June 14th 2013 if it's any good...whether or not we will know of Nolan's exact degree of involvement I think we already know. Goyer penned a treatment, Nolan looked over it, liked it, took it to the WB, they liked it told Nolan to produce it, Nolan hired Snyder and stepped off the project...I think it was that simple really

I believe Nolan also had a hand in at least some of the story before Goyer wrote it into a screenplay. That's what I've read so far.

EDIT: Quote from Nolan: "We're producing the [Superman] film and David Goyer had a terrific take on the story," Nolan told MTV News during the 2010 ShoWest convention. "I've been working on the story with David, and he's going to go off and write it, and we'll see where it goes."

We will know long before June 2013 if its gonna be any good or not.
A whole plethora of things will tell the tale, ie, the suit, the story, the trailers, etc. It will either have the feel of something special beforehand or it won't.

Per the events at comicon, it's a fact,
Superman is no longer invulnerable and wears the armor for protection.

He's still bullet proof atleast. But I don't like him being reliant on a suit. The only reason I was for an armored suit was to explain why it's never damaged.

Yeah, that's total failure. A special battle suit to give him and edge against his toughest enemies, maybe , MAYBE that's acceptable, but for regular use...meh. Good thing Superman will supposedly get more and more poweful, so they can one day ditch the lame armor and bring back the classic. So they already have a built-in reason to bring the classic costume back.

So, I just saw that the guy who made that epic fan-vid of Superman vs Doomsday did a Funeral For A Friend video as well. That's some awesome stuff. I can't wait to see the last part. :D

I really hope Snyder can give me chills with the action sequences like that fan-vid does.

I don't like that. AT ALL.

So you mean to tell me that without his suit, Superman can be hurt?

Per this information, it's a fact,
This relaunch is the worst thing to ever happen to the character*

*IMO

Actually, I think it makes him look a tad more heroic.

I know Superman in the 'Old Continuity' should be noted for his bravery and all. But I think this change shows that he CAN be killed and he knows he's not invulnerable, but still risks his life. Yeah, I know it's Superman and he has amazing powers, whats he got to worry about? But this is no longer a Superman who goes into battle thinking
"Anything but magic or Kryptonite, and I'll be fine"

This is now a Superman who thinks to himself
"Anything but magic, Kryptonite, a nuclear bomb, a rocket, a punch to the gut by Mongul..."

I like that.

Superman shouldn't need armor because he can take much more damage than any armor out there. Full stop.

LMAO at the guys who are still praising this total FAILURE that is this reboot in the comics. Maybe Nolan and company are going to teach the guys at DC a lesson or two in how to write a good story with the classic Superman...

There's nothing wrong with people been optimistic. You don't know its gonna be a failure. We have years upon years of material of the classic Superman whats wrong with trying something new? end of the day if it fails at leats they've made an attempt to make it fresh.

Ignore him, he thinks it is better to slowly die with a whimper than come back bigger, better, newer and more feasible in today's society. And if you fail, which isn't looking likely atm, at least you went out with a bang.

i think it is dumb it is still writers depowering superman because they dont know how to write him

Classic characters never die. Stupid reboots do.

I'd agree completely if I felt this made it 'fresh'.

Hey, I don't mind them rebooting with Clark pining after a taken Lois. I love seeing their love story dragged out and re told in whatever way neccesary, and I'm sure they will end up back together at some point.

I can accept the lack of trunks. I don't like it, but I can see the reasoning behind trying a while without them, to try and get rid of the stigma and draw in new readers... It's logical... I don't think it'll work, but at least I can see the thought process.

My biggest problem has always been the armour, and now that we know it's there because Superman NEEDS armour... Well that makes no logical sense to me whatsoever.

Why take the biggest and most powerful Superhero and bring his power level down to meet, or even be lower than his counterparts and even his enemies.

How is he going to fight Darksied or Doomday? Or are we supposed to believe his armour will protect him?

They've just lost it completely. They do not understand the character and the things that make him special/different from other heroes.

So they've made him a sad imitation of them.
