Yeah you can. Well I only read the free ones they let you have when you download the DC app. Not sure how they are purchased.

Don't look now, but the Troll Legion over at CBM has an entire article devoted to Cavill's crotch. Oh, how I hate that site. It sucks that those idiots tend to get all the exclusives of this stuff.

Well, who doesn't think the new Action Comics #1 was just brilliant?

I can't wait for the next issue.

Wow, was it really that good? The whole "Superman in jeans and a t-shirt" thing kind of turned me off of it. Guess I'll have to check it out after all.

So who else bought [and loved] Action Comics #1 today?

Read the new Action this morning. AMAZING. A couple of things didn't make sense, but I'm often confused by Morrison's writing. I usually have to give it a few good reads before the little things become clear.

But overall, I can't wait for #2!

Anyone know if Action Comics #1 is out worldwide or just the US? Can't find any other release dates online...I'll check my comic shop tomorrow anyway.

I believe it's world wide. I'm up in Canada, and it had the same release as the States. I don't believe comics in general have a region-specific release dates.

I was worried about the jeans and t-shirt thing too. But it really helps convey that Superman is young and starting out.

Morrison seems to have a lot of clear ideas about what he wants to do with this Superman.

In the Costume Thread there's a manip showing the new suit in animated form...IT LOOKS GREAT!Maybe they should do an animated series using the likeness and the voices of this movie's cast

Maybe not a television show, but a DTV animated film like Gotham Knight.

I'd KILL for a new animated series. I absolutely loved the one from the '90s. But it would depend on the style...the new Marvel cartoons look terrible. As long as it looked like the manip in the other thread, I'd be as happy as a pig in crap.

Besides, it's only sticking around for the first arc, then switching to the new JL/Superman suit. Which depending on your opinion of it, is a good thing.

well...anything can look good animated/comics.

the issue is bringing it to real life.

I would really like a Superman animated series that was more adult in nature. No crossovers between Superman, and the issue doesn't have to be solved in the 30 minutes. It would be okay if it went longer. The 90s Spider-Man animated TV series was pretty good about that, but I'd like to see a Superman animated series that did not draw Superman so awkwardly. None of these more "basic" drawings:

I would like first of all to see rich backgrounds that looked more realistic like, more like a cross of the realistic art of Alex Ross and the designs of Lee Bermejo.

Something usually has to be sacrificed when you're talking about a tv show. It's usually either fluid, detailed animation or detailed character designs. That's why the animation is stiffer in shows like the 80s Superman series and Spider-Man: TAS, whereas the DCAU shows have more fluid animation but more simplistic character designs.

My dream scenario for Superman has always been TV actually, but...live-action. I feel like movies don't really offer enough time to create a fully developed Clark Kent AND a fully developed Superman (or at least as well-developed as I'd like), and part of the appeal of the character for me is the day-to-day balance between the two. I always wish I saw more of the journalism side of things, too. I would LOVE to see Clark and Lois following a story that takes a whole season to unfold. Unfortunately, a decent live-action Superman series would require a massive budget, so unless it were HBO or something, it wouldn't even be worth it to try.

But yeah, if they developed a more serialized animated series with story-arcs that span a whole season, that could be cool.

:wow: I had to do a double take to make sure I was in the right thread. :yay:

i thought Action Comics 1 was great. I didn't think so at first, but as any morrisson comic goes, the more you read, the more there IS to read. it's weird, but it's like it opens up. I'm excited for #2. also...the big crash at the end, that might have been the first time i read a comic action scene and was actually blown away by it. it was SO cinematic, it was really well dome.
