All Things Superman: An Open Discussion - Part 5

With how everything has gone so far, this is a prime case of serendipity. Out of all the various Superman productions that have come and gone, I genuinely feel like MOS has the best package thus far. It's amazing how a production like this would have never happened at all without SR.

Yes, everything happens for a reason :)

Well it's filmNerdJamie, you know some guy on that website :woot: ;)

Btw, i can't extrapolate, but i hear from well placed source that the script is now top notch :)

It's weird... I have absolute faith that the script will be amazing, without having ever seen it or heard anything much to prove it.

It just feels like it's all going right.

WB must be smiling for choosing Henry Cavill.

Congrats to Cavill for Immortals where he his in the lead being #1 in the U.S. and overseas.

:word:

Me and the wifey will be watching it this upcoming weekend.

Has anyone heard if the 3D is any good though?

I've heard it's about on par with most post-conversion 3D, which is to say, not worth the extra money. I saw it in 2D, and some of the scenes are filmed quite dark - I'd imagine they would look pretty muddled with the added dimming that comes with 3D.

Yeah, I'm glad I watched it in 2D because there are some gorgeous visuals in Immortals and I would've hated to have to see them in dimmer 3D lighting. That's the chief problem with 3D, not just the headaches, but a darker overall picture to facilitate the 3d.

I've never gotten headaches from watching movies in 3D but my friend always gets them. As for Immortals, I only saw it in 2D but I heard the mixed things about the 3D. Some people have said it's actually quite subtle and good while others have said it's almost non-existent and not worth the money. No one has really said it's poorly done, only that there wasn't enough there. I think if you see it in 3D only expect it to enhance only a few scenes.

Cool. The wifey will probably only want to see it in 2D anyways. :word:

BTW, I heard the story and concept for MOS were just fine from the get go. Things just needed to be fleshed and polished out more when it came to the actual script, hence why Jonah Nolan and Kurt Johnstad came onboard. Jonah was always going to be in the mix, but Johnstad was a Snyder recommendation and a good one at that.

So with TMT reporting that there's a sequel in mind for MOS, does that mean there wont be a World's Finest movie that was reported earlier?

Or will that be after the MOS sequel?

Weird huh?

I personally think if they make a sequel to MOS, than that film should be a lead in to a Justice League movie or a Worlds Finest with Bale and Cavill in the lead roles respectively. If Nolan is the main producer of the MOS sequel and the possible Justice League and Worlds Finest films, than there is a damn good chance Bale will be Batman in those films. If Nolan is involved, than Bale is in basically.

Yeah this how I see it going...

Dark Knight Rises prints money in 2012

Man of Steel does solid business in 2013 and firmly plants Superman into the same Nolanverse that Batman exists in.

Chris Nolan passion project released in 2014

Snyder puts out Man of Steel sequel that does monster business in 2015

Nolan returns to his Nolanverse and releases his World's Finest movie in 2016

This is my wishful thinking and speculation completely unbound...

Snyder's Superman verse will coincide with the next Batman reboot if anything. The Nolan-verse is done.

JLA movie is released and results in such a cultural phenomenon wars are over forever. :woot::awesome:

Not sure what needed to be corrected from the original statement -- unless you're implying only Nolan is done, and he's not taking his universe or cast with him.

No, he clearly means that Nolan, after his recent string of critical and box office failures, will never make another movie again.

Never seen these photos before. I like the trunkless look in these, wonder what it'll look like on film..

The quote was a tweet from one of the siterunners. Not sure why dark linked to the main page of the site.

Wasn't Singer's sequel supposed to have Brainiac as the main villain? Or does he mean that how Brainiac was supposed to question why Superman doesn't interfere with wars and such?
