He doesn't have an official license to apprehend anyone. The only legal response is to call the cops. What he does is take the law into his own hand.

Not to mention breaking and entering and collateral damage.

So if I witness an assault/purse snatching on an elderly woman, intervene, subdue, and retain the scum til the cops arrive, or bring them to the police, I am guilty of a crime, because I am not licencesed in some fashion?

If I also witness thru a window a violent assault, or see an unconscious person in a burning room, break the window to enter and intervene I am guilty of breaking and entering.

Again, the Justice League has been sanctioned by most of the worlds governments and as a member of the Justice League he is allowed to legally be a vigilante.

Hmmm....you are right. He is still breaking laws as a vigilante though.

Does he have the right to enter into the home of an abusive husband and throw him out the window?

To the entering, if he witnesses an assault, and walls to him are negligible, akin to seeing thru a window, I doubt any laws prevent him from intervening, there are conversely no laws requiring intervention.
Re. the toss out the window...... excessive force is a crime to anyone, even licensed lawmen and authority.

Just to clarify..... a vigilante takes it upon himself or herself to personally punish lawbreakers rather than rely on legal authorities and justice systems. The important defining term here is.... PUNISH.

Lynch-mobs are vigilantes.

I can think of only one main stream super-hero that meets vigilante criteria...The Punisher.

Does Superman meet the criteria, does he punish?

When the law is changed that much, that a citizens arrest is wrong, you can bet whoever approved that change, is no friend of vigilanties :hehe:

Yeah, I normally avoid Leno like the plague, but that was a good interview. Cavill is very charasmatic in person. Also, I must say, Ellen Barkin looks DAMN good for a 57-year-old.

I think I figured out the plot behind the whole oil rig disaster and how Superman is introduced.

I think they are bringing back some old adversaries with a slight horror twist.

This makes perfect sense if you think about it.

Don't look unless you want to be scared...

"You fool, look what you've done, I told you to aim that phantom zone projector to make Superman disappear, instead you have taken out his trunks" :hehe:

Hopefully new
Actor Julian Richings is in Man of Steel and filmed scenes with Shannon and Crowe taking place in krypton:

Very cool. Guys got a very standout look. Kryptonian council member, perhaps?

Damn. He is one creepy looking dude. I foresee a comic book supervillain in his future (if he's not secretly already playing one here).

That fan film Superman Requiem is available to view:

I have to say I know its a fan film but its really bad, Superman is way too skinny and the actings so bad its actually funny. But credot to the guys for trying.

Heres one of his best acting gigs a scene from a tv to give a sense how he could act:

That is really cool news, and I like the sound of that setting!

Just goes to show that there could be plenty of parts already cast that we just haven't heard about yet because they weren't deemed important enough to officially announce.

Here's what he said in text form for quotable purposes :)

I've just been to Vancouver and over a span of about a week and shot a couple of scenes. I can't talk too much about them but they were a lot of fun and they were with Russel Crowe and Michael Shannon and in a settingm probably the size of a hockey arena with an awful lot of green screen around. So I can't even tell you what it will finally look like, but I think it's going to be impressive.

He looks like he could play Vulture in a Spider-man sequel.
