All Things Superman: An Open Discussion - Part 5

Seems probable (i even like it), but it doesn't account for a few things we have seen such as the bus crash or Clark and Lois in Alaska and a few other things.

Not bad, not bad. I'd see it. Although I thought General Lane wasn't in the movie?

Yeah. It's a fun read, but it feels like a buttload of fan service while trying to incorporate what we've gleaned from filming thus far and connecting the dots as best as the writer can, while still missing a couple of things, like Lois in Alaska as batman44 pointed out.

Meloni isn't playing Lane. I can see why they Probably changed it since he and Loid barely had any lines together.

Its possible that this plot leak could have been an early treatment or draft.

Remember, at the Smallville set, they were more baddies than Zod and Faoria.

Which makes me think that Zod unleashed more 'creatures' from the Phantom Zone during the rewrites..

This; I can't wait to see on how that unfolds on screen. I've been DYING to see a live action version of Superman where he finally fights off against something that didn't have a humanoid appearance, while not being bounded by the restrictions of a tv budget (LnC, Smallville, Superboy)

Also, like others have said, yeah, I think Lois is introduced into the movie early on before we even arrive in Metropolis.

Not to mention that we've had many rumors saying that there will be scenes of a much younger Clark present as well.

Also, tbh, the idea of Zod spending most of the film just honing his powers or killing Faora out of mistrust when he's not fighting Superman is something that I find so...passive and boring in a way.

I'd expect for General Zod to be much more of a tactical villain in this interpretation and use his mind instead of just relying entirely on his strength.

The way Shannon Described Zod in his interviews Doesnt really sound the same in that supposed spoiler......it does sound good though, especially Intergang movements in that script.....I wonder if any of this turns out to be true

The bus crash could conceivable occur during the Battle of Metropolis. I'm a bit more curious about the vault door. After seeing the setpiece, reading Action Comics #2, and learning about a strong military presence in the film, I've been hoping for a sequence like this:

(For context, Lex has captured Superman and is running tests at a top-secret military facility. Superman gets out.)

Above all else, I just hope that this film has some "heart" into its story and that they're not just putting in several cool action looking sequences. I hope that the script lives up to what Cavill had described towards being one of the best scripts that he's read thus far in his career.

Case in point, if SR were to be labeled as Ang Lee's version of The Hulk in the modern day film franchise, I wouldn't want for MOS to end up as the film franchise's version of TIH.

I want MOS to be to Superman's franchise what BB was to Batman's, or what X:FC was to the X-men franchise.

It does sound plausible, I'd be more inclined to believe it if it was from say an early draft. its like we know there's a young CK in this film and there's no mention of that. We also know there's a scene at the school with Clark as a boy that wasn't mentioned unless there are just some bits skipped over. Also where is it from cause I can't see it on aint it cool? Either way real or fake its a great read and some parts of it make me think it is real.

Wow.it's so good! All the characters are getting rght n treated nicely.
i love it!!! Hope it's real!

Maybe..Or he could have just taken everything we have heard so far and wrote it. Seems like alot of the young clark stuff is missing.

Real or fake, I just had a great and fun read to the sound of STM score! :D

Let me see if I got this right... the script actually got rewrites by the Kieran and Michele Mulroney husband-and-wife team? I know the sequel script rumors are still unconfimed, but is there any other source for the Mulroney rumor?

I hope it's true. They wrote the JLA script that so impressed the execs at WB. It must have had some coolness in it. And for whatever reason, having a woman chip into the script feels very right.

Not a bad read and not that far off story wise. A lot of the info has been sort of put out of order timeline wise though. Interesting.

That was a pleasant read. Even for a treatment it seemed to be a little thing however. Still, if they made even half of that film(literally) it would be better and do better than the previous film that will not be mentioned for fear of upsetting certain mods.

I would enjoy a Superman movie like that fake or fact it was a good read.

Hmm, I didn't know there was young Clark stuff in the movie. If I'd known I'd have written it in. And yes, for the record, I'm the guy who wrote that plot outline. :cwink:

Someone linked to the original article already and I hadn't intended on putting it in an AICN talkback (I put it in two actually) but after finishing it I decided to do it for a laugh without letting on that it was fake. I'm surprised anyone actually saw it. It was picked up on one of the CBM fansites as well.

Some things like characters appearing who haven't been cast or actors being on sets without appearing in those scenes in the plot rundown are mostly because I either forgot about it or because once I'd pieced together a story stuff like that just wasn't fitting right. In the end though it was my version of Snyder's film, not the actual film so I did take some liberties.

Thanks for the responses though. Start the campaign now to get me the writing job on the sequel. :oldrazz:

It was pretty clever the way you handled the inter dimensional travel across time space. Zod's need to wear a suit was also well touched.

If it was up to me Zod wouldn't be wearing a battle suit (or whatever he's apparently wearing) at all and Faora wouldn't be in the film. But I tried to work within the parameters of what I knew about the film. The idea of the Phantom Zone essentially being a wormhole is something I've been thinking about for a while. It gave me a way to get Faora to Smallville and the Kent Farm. With her own ship damaged beyond repair she could use the Phantom Zone device on Kal-El's ship to free Zod.

Actually if I was making this movie it would be Lex Luthor who released Zod from the Phantom Zone and Lex would help Superman trap him again, cementing his place as the darling of Metropolis with only Superman knowing that there's something sinister about him.

That explains why you got rid of her the first chance you got.
But yes, with your wormhole tech in the ships, you've effectively found a way to get Zod to earth organically. Miles better than whatever it was Donner did.

We've all got ideas I suppose, hopefully Goyers got some good one's too.

I hope they don't announce any Luthor casting, that way the cameo will be a huge treat.

That whole read was cool... But I just don't buy that just after Jonathan and Martha takes Baby Kal-El out of the ship we then skip 25 ****ing years - and BOOM! we're on the oil-rig! No way! Something's just off. I don't buy that we won't see anything of Clark as a little kid. We already know that there's a scene with little boy Kal-El sneezing and blowing out a wall! Also missing is CK and Lois in Alaska. And there's no mention of how Jor-El's suit miraculously goes from one color to the classic red, blue and yellow of Superman's suit. No way they wouldn't explain that. Much of that description sounds very plausible, but stuff definitely seems to be missing, especially from Clark's childhood... If stuff happens exactly as that whole read describes, then we're already back to the BAD and weird EDITING, just like with Superman Returns...
