It would be a great drinking game. You would probably get alcohol poisoning if you added synonyms as well though. I love Batman Begins, but it is heavy handed at times.

Arthur lobs a dead fish at the wall, which momentarily sticks there, then slides down the wall leaving a trail of disgusting fish slime.

Its a shame that info was fake but it was a superb read. I love the idea of hope been the theme for this movie much like fear was the theme for Batman Begins. It wouldn't surprise me if Nolan and Goyer had used that idea in their script.

I'm a firm believer in Superman being an inspirational figure who provides hope to the world that if someone as powerful as him can be selfless and want to help people, then maybe we can be better people as well. Then introduce a villain who challenges that philosophy and watch as Superman enters badass mode.

Incidentally, while that plot synopsis is my interpretation of what Snyder could be doing, it's not necessarily what I'd do with an origin story featuring Zod. My own concept has no Science Council, no Faora, no death of any Kents. If anyone is interested in reading a much more detailed rundown of what I would do with Superman, you can read it here.

It's pretty long, spanning multiple posts across 2 or 3 pages so don't worry, I won't be offended if people don't read it.

As they stand in the cornfield, Martha and Jonathan have a frank discussion about the baby. Martha is almost immediately attached to the child but Jonathan is concerned, suggesting that it could be a Russian plot (setting the destruction of Krypton and the crash in the 1980s) of some kind and that at the very least they should call the authorities. Martha tells Jonathan that it's just a baby who couldn't hurt anyone. Jonathan leaves in the truck to go back to the farm for some equipment to raise the ship from the crash site, saying they'll take the child home and decide what to do later.

"Later" turns into days, months and years as we have a brief montage of Martha and then Jonathan getting so attached to the child that they can't bear to let him go. The montage also includes a couple of shots of Jonathan burying the ship in the barn. Finally we reach a point 9 years later. Jonathan is outside, doing repairs on the tractor as young Clark plays with the dog. As Jonathan works, the dog starts barking loudly and Jonathan looks up to see Clark lying on the ground. Jonathan immediately calls out to Martha and rushes to his son. Martha comes out of the house and is shocked to see young Clark unconscious in her husbands arms. They worry about something being seriously wrong as Clark has never been sick in his life. Martha starts to rush inside to call a doctor but Clark wakes up. He's dazed and he his head is warm. Jonathan picks him up to carry inside but takes an uncontrollably deep breath and sneezes, blowing a hole in the wall of the house and in the process, knocking Jonathan off his feet.

We then spend time in another montage watching Clark in his early teenage years as his powers start to develop. We see him wearing glasses in an attempt to control his supervision, we watch him almost light the barn on fire with his heat vision. Other powers start to show. Strength, speed...Clark does his daily chores in a matter of minutes. The next day he does them all in just a few seconds. He's getting stronger every day and they don't know why. At 14, Clark asks the question...What am I? Martha and Jonathan don't have an answer.

Cut to the oilrig, 11 years later....

There is a scene where Lois is trapped in a boat that splits in half and he carries it up. Then later he is stabbed with kryptonite and falls into sea only to have Lois rescue him.

well, slaughtering things would make him more modern and edgy.

a vegan slaughterer? i dont think it'd be more edgy, but clearly it would be a reflection of the internal struggle of the superman/clark kent identity....human/alien....a duality of man, if you will.
