They cut GL down because it was terrible and the studio knew that.

WB have stated several times that they are extremely proud of MOS, so why would they cut it down?
True. But the cut made the narrative even sloppier. What a missed opportunity.:csad:
Anyways. I trust the imdb specs more than I do CBM. It's still listed at 148.
"But I've been wrong before..."

This means we will most likely get about 30 minutes of Superman if that, and we won't be seeing anymore of him until 2017. Damn.

That can't be right. That would mean they zoomed through all of Zod in 30 mins. I cannot see that happening. You have to think Zod will show up with at least an hour remaining, if not more.

If I'm not mistaken, that would still be more than Batman's screentime in ANY of the Nolan films.

Completely different scenario.

Running time is fine. Especially with the extra 20 minutes the blu-ray will have. :cwink:

CORRECTION: That's actually more than Batman screentime in any Batman movie since 1989.

I agree. And 89 had the most Batman screentime, no doubt. ****in love that movie.

I think the Smallville fight is the third to last fight/major action sequence in the film.

1 is stuff on Krypton.

2 is the oil rig.

3 is the Smallville fight/capture.

4 is the Metropolis showdown.

Except we also know that Zod is around long enough to threaten, have Clark taken into custody, and to have him parlay with Zod on his ship. It will be well over 30mins.

I'm most excited about those DCU references.

I am one fan who actually didn't want this. I wanted to feel like Superman is in a world of his own. Especially getting what I believe is the Superman movie I've waiting for my whole fan life. Supes deserves his solo shine on the big screen. I've never been a fan of Justice League bc they've always dumbed his powers down to make the other heroes relevant bc he could do it all by himself.

But... this is the movie I've always wanted and if this is the only way I'm getting it then bring it on.

It was like they forgot how to write for 10 mins. Everything got back on track once Kirk was back on the bridge.

I just like that scene a lot because of the humor.

Kirk being clumsy while getting chased.

Meeting Scotty.

"I am and always will be your friend."( i think thats what it is)
"Bulls**t."

I wouldn't worry about the runtime guys. It seems like the director is happy with the runtime, which is a plus sign. And I've yet to see anything that suggests to me that we'll get shortchanged in any way.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting what Kevin Smith meant, but how? We are referring to actual in-costume screentime, right?

Bruce does a lot out of his suit that Superman would do in his. Once Clark puts on the suit in this film, he probably won't take it off until the possible epilogue at the Daily Planet.

Why?

Ironman, Ironman 2, Ironman 3, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America and Thor all have shorter runtimes than MOS..

And all of them minus IM (didn't see IM3 yet) are mediocre films that don't have the scale MOS seems to be going for.

This is only happening because WB wants money.

If anything JL connected, I want seperate universes that have trilogies with Batman, Gl, flash etc.

I always felt Iron Man was a little short, BUT it was a very tight movie. I don't like the "extended" stuff on FX like when they show Rodey going to look for Stark. I prefer that we be just as surprised as Tony is that people are looking for him. Man, I love that first movie. I just really wish the second were as good.

The Incredible Hulk felt short to me, and I'm really hoping MOS won't be Superman's version of TIC. Thor wasn't bad. I was fine with Cap's runtime.

That's a good point. Fair enough.

I expect we'll see plenty of Supes in this film anyway, given the sheer number of scenes that he seems to appear in (in suit).

Yeah I know. It's greedy but maybe it will be like The Avengers where it felt like it was Highlighting IM. So Justice League will have the spot light on Supes.

I really just want 2 solid stand alones for Big Blue before this happens.

Really... I want MOS to kick ass first!

Movie is 2h10 min instead of what 2h30 min that some were expecting, and you're worried? :D

Complaining for the sake of complaining.

To be fair, a lot can happen in 20 minutes.

I don't agree with the concern at this point, but I understand the worry behind it.

so we've got a 2 hour 10 min confirmed runtime?

I guess that's a bit shorter than I'd expected, but it's not too bad. I'm not a fan of too long movies anyways.

Now, if the runtime was......say.........1 hour 40 min, THEN I'd be really concerned.

if the pacing/editing is good, then an extra 10-15 minutes won't really matter.

Me either hate getting numb ass in the cinema. 2 hours 10 mins is fine I'm sure it's not gonna take away anything from the film.
