The cameo is the actual mayor of Plano, Illinois.I don't know what theses people in here talking about like it's somebody else.

...that aint much of a cameo for anyone who doesn't live in Plano...

I'm late to the party. I love all the new images we got! Heat vision! This movie looks so awesome.

I needed to step back in here for awhile, the Iron Man 3 thread has just become awful. They look to have a great movie on their hands judging from reviews but it has become so bogged down with arguments over one thing.

You read that on CosmicBookNews, didn't you? The short article says.....

Word surfaced the other day that a classic Superman actor will have a role in the upcoming Man of Steel movie.

The possibilities are endless, but could the identity of the actor have already been known?

Maybe we just had to look a little harder?

Scratch that. Not look. Listen.

CBN reader Andrew Francis pointed out that in the latest Man of Steel trailer where Clark saves the bus, it just might have a voice over by none other than Annette O'Toole. Of course, she played Lana Lang in the Donner movies as well as Ma Kent on Smallville.

Let's take a listen:

"My son was in the bus" - This doesn't sound like O'Toole as much, I'll admit.

"He saw what Clark did." - This one sounds like her a lot. It could be that the above is from a different mom as there are a bunch of kids on the bus and Snyder seemingly combined them to throw us off.

I don't think it sounds anything like O'Toole myself

This what it says in the original article ( http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=37244 ) that everyone is basing the cameo thing from:

A few more details: the shoot took nine days to complete, it's the first major conflict in the movie and the town of Plano, Illinois, plays Smallville, Kansas. The mayor even gets a cameo. Look out for a particularly oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-this-is-happening bank teller.

It's very clear they are talking about the mayor. Of course some guy over at CBM wanted to be a bit sensationalist (either that or his reading comprehension isn't too good) and made it out as though they said there will be a OMG cameo, when they are saying the bank teller (the mayor) will have be all OMG.

maybe...

This is, in my opinion, the best part about looking forward to a film like MOS -- those last couple of months when the momentum really starts to build as everything from pictures and videos to talk show interviews gets thrown at us. It's kind of interesting really. At first, we're all "news is too frickin slow", and then it's like "ahh... too many spoilers.. must .. stop.. looking.." lol

Not being the mayor of Plano, I can tell you that much.

I'm not sure why the mayor of Plano is an OMG cameo. That sentence is a little misleading.

I freakin' thought so! I read the article and then came back here like:huh:.
I thought I had missed something and reread the thing like ten times.

Not at all misleading. They are NOT saying the cameo is OMG. Read it again. They are saying that the bank teller is oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-this-is-happening. As in holy s***t there's some super powered beings slamming each other into walls! :wow:

That sound like the actual Mayor of of Plano, Illinois getting a bit part in MOS while the bank teller is a different person, and most definitely the cameo. It may also be possible that there will be more than one cameo.

There was talk of a cameo some time ago. Someone from Superman:TM, right? Probably Marc McClure. Looks like a banker.

How you came to that conclusion I really don't know.

Same here. But I see some people still don't get it. Oh well, the desire for an OMG cameo is so strong it overrides the logic senses I guess.

Like Godfrey keeps saying, the mayor as the bank clerk is the cameo. The sentence first tells you of the cameo, and then who to look out for (the bank clerk). People over at CBM need to learn how to read.

Ahhhh! Gotcha. I think the "oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-this-is-happening" may need quotations around it to signify that is what the bank telling is being called.
