Depends on whose origin it is. Superman's is (one of) the biggest, most epic origins - if done right. This film seems to cover more ground than S:TM which was at 143 minutes (ok some of that is intro and end credits).
If it's 2:10 without end credits, then it should suffice in this case, but just for fun I've decide to do a breakdown of what we know and how long certain aspect could/should be based on my life-long movie watching experiences, lol.

t:
Krypton scenes - 15 - 20 minutes?
Goyer said Crowe's part isn't just a cameo. Empire article again states we'll see quite a bit of Krypton. Supposedly they really fleshed out aspects like politics, fauna etc. I expect some of Krypton to be in flashbacks but they have to cover Zod's back story a bit and his capture, Jor-El, the genetic manipulation thing, civil war and the rest. Can't see this being under 20 minutes. 15 at the least.
Smallville scenes with Clark growing up - 15 - 20 minutes?
Again there is a whole period to cover here, from baby Kal-El landing, to him being a young boy (the hospital scene) to him being a teenager (school bus/ship in the barn) to the adult Clark (Tornado sequence). I can't see this being under 15 minutes as well.
Clark on a journey - 15 minutes?
This includes Clark's decision to travel, arriving in Alaska, working in a bar, on a dock/fishing boat, rescuing the oil rig workers AND finding the fortress. Just the bit in the fortress is probably going to be 5 minutes at least so 15 minutes for everything is the least I can imagine.
Lois Lane/Daily Planet - 10 minutes?
Lane/Perry/Daily Planet introduction and Lois following Clark around.
So far that's 55 minutes at the minimum and 65 for what I think would be an OK time for nothing to feel rushed or underdeveloped, although with everything that has to be covered in here I expect the pace to be rather fast and montage like in some cases. Not my personal preference but I admit it doesn't necessarily make the movie worst. Moving on we will have
Zod's escape journey towards Earth/Hopefully some character development for him and Faora/Zod's arrival on earth and Kent farm/Smallville battle/Supes surrender to military, Supes in interrogation/Scenes with Hamilton/Military giving Supes to Faora and co - 25 minutes
Black Zero scenes and the Black Zero escape - 10 minutes
No idea what will happen here but I'm expecting some Zod/Supes conversation, them putting or trying to put Superman in a prison cell, Superman rescuing Lois (escape pod remember) and Supes dealing with Zod.
Black Zero arrival on Metropolis/Final battle - 15 minutes
Conclusion/Clark's Daily Planet scenes - 10 minutes
Miscellaneous stuff/Things I forgot (
)/Things that we don't know about (I'm sure there's some). - 10 minutes
So thats 70 minutes and if we add the 65 I'm hoping for the origin parts that is
135 minutes or
125 minutes at the minimum.
I hope nobody expects a fully fleshed out Lois/Supes relationship (remember the supposed early screenings reviews, everyone said this felt rushed) but that's OK, there shouldn't be one in an origin, IMO.
I also hope that Zod is not an underdeveloped villain with minimal screen time (ala Nero in ST).
And that's it. Now me, I like my movies to breathe. I don't like a too fast pace or montage like scenes, but that's a personal preference. If I enjoy a movie I can watch it for 3 hours

. If TDKR was 30 minutes longer and had more Batman/Bane back story/Selina-Catwoman time I'd love it!

t: But like I said, I do know this doesn't translate into movie quality.
Now if it's 130 minutes WITH end credits, meaning it's only like 120 minutes or less, then we have a problem. A BIG problem. But I'm still hoping that the IMDB run time is true, 148 minutes with credits, leaving the film in the 135 range. Pretty much perfect.
Any thoughts on this???
