Avengers 2 and Star Wars 7 are going to devour any movie that comes out in 2015. Despite how well MOS does, MOS 2 would take a huge hit in 2015 unless it comes out at the end of the year.

The Avengers 2 is going to take a hit. Just because you can't achieve that kind of number twice. And I'll believe Episode VII is out that summer when I see it. Disney already has their slate full. No room for it.

The Man of Steel sequel would do just fine in 2015.

If MoS is the hit that we all think/hope it will be, then I really hope they make a WF film first with Cavill and whichever actor they pick for Batman. JL can wait.

Make that the film where we are introduced to the new Batman. No need for a complete origin retelling of Bats in a solo film so soon. Just show a late 20's early 30's Bats that meets Cavill's Superman. Maybe Joker and Lex force them to meet and team up. thats up to the writers.
Anywho, make this Batman one that is truly a martial arts master AND the worlds greatest detective.

I dont want a Jl movie.But looking it from a business standpiont yeah i can see why WB is more gungho about it than MOS 2.

IMO, there is not enough time to introduce the other characters first in order to have a JL film out by 2015. Of course WE all know who the characters are, but most of the public won't be fimilar with the likes of a MM or a Cyborg.


WB cant simply slap the Name JL on it and expect the crowds to come if they arent properly introduced to the other characters first.

IMHO, make A WF film first, then team up films after that, ie, Flash/WW, GL/MM. work into it slowly, build it all up. have each film be connected to the other films. one story line. end it all with a JL film.

Everyone else is irrelevant to the public. If you tell them Superman and Batman will be in the same place, that is all that matters. Then you use them to introduce the others. That would be the whole point.

I would prefer if we got MoS2, but if they could do a better job and story with JL, then I'll be happy. I just want the next film to be really good.

Is 2:10 run time right?

There's no right or wrong run time. Depending on the pace, a story could look perfect in a 2 hr film and yet look too short in a 2:30 hr film.

I think Roger Ebert said something to the effect that if the movie is good you don't notice the running time and if the movie is bad it can't end soon enough.

Oh I dont blame them. at all. WB has had plans for years to get JL out, even before marvel did with avengers. But They ( WB ) didnt have faith in it and sat back and watched as marvel brought in mega $$$$ with Avengers, so now they are playing catch up.

I want a JL film as bad as anyone, BUT, I dont want it rushed. I want it done right. If that means waiting, then so be it.

Avengers went from no director to opening worldwide in less than 2 years. It started filming exactly 1 year before it opened.

They could put out another MOS in 2015 and do a JL in 2016 with relative ease.

At the end of the day and based on all we've seen: I trust Zack Snyder. If he thinks it should be 2:10 hrs. So be it.

Yes, it's a bit disappointing considering it looks like a huge film with so much to get through, I'd love it to be 3 hours. But 2 hrs (minus 10 mins of credits) is all Zack needed apparently, so I trust him.

All of this talk is meaningless. By no later than a month after MOS opens, we'll have a pretty clear picture of what they're doing. If it's tracking on $700+ million, they'll be green lighting every DC movie under the sun.
