I really hope they don't make it so that the suit grants him the power of flight.

I would love to see a scene where young Clark learns he can fly and is overcome with sheer joy and excitement. kind of like in the Animated Series.
Yes... That would be wonderful, wouldn't it? :)

I just hope that they don't have stuff like in Birthright (I think?) where he's flying over zebras or the like.

Then again, like it was in STM, the first time we seem him fly might be when he first wears the suit...without any explanation needed.

sorry but I disagree. To go from standing flat footed on the ground and just lifting off I think looks amazing. Now if he wants to haul ass then off course a nice launch like in the trailer looks fantastic!

That's fine, but I'm curious as to why that looks, as you say "amazing". What does it offer that showing Superman exists in a world of physics, where he has mass and weight doesn't? Why couldn't he start floating with the same amount of effort it takes to push your foot foward to take a step?

You have to have force to move. Even if they say he flies by just turning off gravity for himself, he wouldn't just start floating away. He has to exert some sort of force on the ground to move up.

yes. yes it would. :yay:

I was thinking of that too.

but I'd rather it be over the farm in Smallville.

I just think it would be beyond stupid to have the suit give him powers. Superman is not Iron Man. he doesn't depend on "tech" to give him powers. His powers are part of his DNA.

I think there should be a balance of both. Just as walking comes naturally to us, but sprinting requires greater effort, there should be instances of effortless flight and those of the more "violent" type. Given Snyders eye for visuals, I fully expect the best flying sequences on film.

Anybody else noticed that they took the "superman against the vault" picture off the official website?...now they only have 2 pictures:huh:

yes. yes it would. :yay:

I seriously doubt it's the suit that gives him the ability of flight, even if we only see him fly after putting it on. The fact that they'll be clearly indicating his extraordinary abilities in other areas sans suit should make that a sure thing. I think it's safe to say that if they don't specifically indicate that the suit gives him flight, the default assumption is that he's flying because of what he is.

yeah. I'm pretty sure they won't even go that route of making the suit give him powers.

and, I've been thinking. I wonder how Clark gets on the Oil Rig. I wonder if he's working on the rig at the time of the explosion. or he sees the explosion from the shore and flies to the rig to rescue the workers.

if it's the latter, then that would be a way to show Clark flying on his own.....before the suit.

Or......it's like 'how the heck did he get there so fast when he was on a boat miles away'? Well....we find out later that running and swimming aren't the only ways he can get around.

well if he's just learning how to fly and what not then it would make sense for him to not really have full control over it, in an origin movie (which this is) we should see him just going full out with it and then later seeing what happens with it (such as the sonic boom it can create in a populated area)

DC Comics have revealed something today....I kinda hope that now he's back in the comics we can sorta get him into the movies as well.....who do I speak of??

........Hank Henshaw :D

I am not a fan of cyborg Superman, post death his appearances got worse and worse. It seemed like he was at the heart of nearly every Superman story for a while. It'd be oh there's be a surprise villain, who would it be? Oh it's Hank Henshaw again, yawn!

So does Clark not wear glasses in this one? I'm guessing Lois has never met Clark before?

Y'know....I actually think that black/blue 'faceted' pattern works much better than the all-blue design of the 'New 52' suit.

The new 52 suit sucks. I initially didn't have too much of a problem with it, but every time I see it I hate it more and more. The collar, the belt (which looks like it came right of an 80's He-Man action figure), the awkward looking cape... it's crap.

I saw a pic of that suit and I wasn't feeling it.

How about a blue and red pattern instead? That's more true to the traditional color scheme.
