I think that he married Lana as part the Generations Elseworld minseries

I've always felt that Superman and Batman were above cursing, just because their mindsets were to a point where that word doesn't really seem like it's part of their vocab, it would feel unnatural for them to use a curse word to express frustration like that, out of character and pointless for them to curse, even if the worst thing in the world happened to them.

So yeah i think it's kind of a big deal when you get to the f*** and the s***.

I've never read Birthright, Red son, secret origin or any of the other comics that everyone here goes on about. I shall get to that leading up to MoS I guess.

One of the things that got me thinking about this was I realized that in the interrogation scene from TDK, Batman is being pushed by The Joker to break his one rule , but he doesnt curse at the time despite the enormous stress he was under .

^ I remember Supes saying "Dammit!" in the DOS storyline. However, Bale's Batman avoided swearing in the costume, even though Batsy swears now and then in comics. Why make movie Superman less clean than Batman?

and thank god he didn't.

I don't think Superman or Batman would curse out loud while wearing their suits. It kind of stings their symbols, like that is beneath them.

In the privacy of their thoughts, that's a whole other story. Though I don't think they do it often or find it as stress releasing as most people do.

Something about cursing kinda sullies their characters to me, to me it shows weakness or basic human vulnerability. Superman is over this and so is batman in mind body and soul. If Batman just muttered the f-word in a scene or a panel it would lessen the "superheroic qualities" of the character.

I curse like a salior, which isn't a great trait to have, so I'm not going to go "Oh My" when I hear someone swearing but I don't want Supes to swear. I don't care how realistic it is, I just don't dig Supes swearing. Lois, Perry and the villian can but Superman? Please don't.

^ I guess you should stay away from AllStarBatman :D

But yes, Supes shouldn't swear. :)

It would be awesome to hear Batman 'Bale voice' Mother ***ker at someone though:woot:

And Superman could shatter all the glass in a whole block just by shouting **ck lol.

So the NBA playoffs/MoS marketing begins! :)

Yup. Another ad with a different Jor el monologue never heard before. I didnt catch it fully but he was talking about how Supes should push his limits or something.

"you have grown stronger than you and I ever could have imagined, the only way to know how strong... is to keep testing your limits." Jor-el
something like that
