What youre suggesting isnt simple though-its just to pretend that the diguise cld work and ignore the plotholes.Which is fine for a non serious take with Superman but this isnt one.By setting in a realistic world they cant get away with it anymore. They cant just ignore the plotholes and I dont believ theyd do so.I believ theyd probbaly fix it.

I see no reason why explaining that No one recongnises Clark because of his alien suit is complex.Sure it wld be different but so what?If it can avoid the cringe-worthy disguise explantion we got in smallville tv show its more than what it.:cwink:

The best way to handle Supes secret identity, I believe, can be found in an old Strange Tales story featuring the Human Torch. Johnny had built a tunnel leading far from the suburban home he shared with Sue in order to keep his identity a secret. He later found out that everyone in town knew his "secret", but were appreciative of the work he did so they left him alone.

Though not completely realistic, it would be "hopeful" that in The Man of Steel everyone knows that Clark Kent is Superman, but 99% of the population let him be. And to throw off the 1% that might ask him to use heat vision on an annoying neighbor or squeeze a lump of coal into a diamond, Clark wears glasses, combs his hair differently and slouches when out in public.

Only on the hype can you look at Jim Lee's quote and go "Oh boy...he's just talking about the action a lot, this worries me that it will be another mindless blockbuster, damn that snyder with his style and no substance"

Never change hype...never change.

I know, right? Everything Lee said was great.

Here you go for all your FB cover needs :D

How do the same people come out with that "final" poster. :funny:

Awesome tweet from Russ, er I mean Jor-El!

Russell Crowe ‏@russellcrowe 1m
ahem...as I was saying...my name is Jor El, of Krypton, as my planet dies I send 2 you my son, Kal. So he may live. He will arrive June 14

He actually continued that tweet

Russell Crowe ‏@russellcrowe
however, I am going to see the Zach Synder film @ManofSteelMovie this weekend...bad luck earthlings, patience... peace out , Jor El

We should know Crowe's thoughts on it tomorrow (probably the same as Shannon's thoughts)

I thought Lee's quote was just fine but lets not kid ourselves, even if he thought it sucked he wouldn't admit it until after the film is out of theaters.

I'm glad people are mentioning the action because fanboys can think it's as dumb as they want to but the action does matter.

This isn't 1978, most want to see a huge spectacle when they spend 10-15 dollars a ticket on a silly movie about a Super powered Alien that happens to look exactly like an extremely attractive white male.

I usually use this one when I'm on superhero mood:

I love how Crowe has been the anti-Brando leading up to this movie. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Marlon Brando's Jor-El, but it's always bugged me how he apparently didn't give a crap about the movie. Crowe, in contrast, seems to really cherish the role and has been really hyping it up.

I keep hearing (well, seeing) how Brando didn't give a damn about S:TM. I didn't know that, but what did he do? Did he specifically said it, or he just didn't talk a lot about the movie? Or what? :funny:

I agree about Lee.
If Lee saw SR before release, it would be interesting to track down his comments .
I DO think the action is important.
I would have felt better if Lee had at least mentioned perfomances .
I want great action scenes .
But, I want the whole package too.

To be fair Brando didn't take most things seriously. And yet was still a phenomenal actor.

At least I think that's Cavill...

You are reading too much into his words. He was just quickly saying something about the film, he wasn't giving a full detailed review.

I swear some people worry about any and everything. Even if he said he didn't like it that doesn't mean you want. Personally I don't care what Lee or anyother comicbook writer or artist thinks about any film.

It's neat to get other opinions but it doesn't tell me what I'm going to think.

i heard a strange story about Brando once
The story was that he told Donner that he wanted Supermans parents to be actual vegetables like carrots , Brando and York would provide the Voices .
Donner thought it was ridiculous .
Brando than said He was just testing Donner to see how serious he was in making a good film.
Not sure where I heard that, but, I never forgot it .

Was Gaia magic, wasn't she the creator of Captain Planet? I can't seem to recall.

Yeah, most people involved with the film, WB, or DC comics will have high praises for MOS. That's the way it usually goes. The opinion I'm most interested in, when I see the movie, will be my own. :yay:
