"Looks like you have a train to catch!" :woot:

Yeah, it's 100% different to any other superhero film before it. Nolan's Batman had elements of it but it looks as if it's going to be the main visual style for this film.

It especially looks good, imo, in the aerial sequences that have been shown so far. As long as it doesn't look like garbage Marc Forster shaky cam or Alex Cross-type shaky cam, I think this movie will look okay. :hehe:

I literally cheered when I saw him throwing punches.
Along with good storytelling and characterizations, all I ever wanted was to see was a modern Superman face an equal phyisical force.

What's interesting to note is that these trailer show a very desaturated film except for the red cape. The cape really stands out in contrast to its surroundings.

The trailer was clearly the "young males, come and see our movie trailer!" I also agree that it makes the movie look as different as possible from the last film. It makes Superman look cooler than ever and Superman has to look like that to put asses in seats. It's a good marketing idea and a great, chilling and thrilling kickass trailer that of course isn't as good as the last trailer. I didn't expect it to anyway so that's not a dig. And now to fangirl my ass off...

SUPERMAN ****ING PUNCHES VILLIANS!!! :woot:

ITA :hehe:

and what's the deal with the Faora love anyway? she's a cold blooded murderer who is about to commit genocide and will beat the crap out of Ma Kent, I have a hard time seeing people cheering for her, or is it because she's sexy, that must be it I guess :whatever:

It's going to be crazy to see Kal-El seeing all his dead ancestors and family. I wonder what happens to cause him to get teary eyed and scream.

AH...that might explain the skulls...dream sequence or somehow Zod makes him experience it.

The skull scene seems like a dream sequence. If it wasn't, he'd just fly out of there. It's not like they'd weigh him down.

I honestly can't tell if the large dude is a kryptonian or one of Zod's robots

If you are talking about the foreign market then I agree, Superman 2-4 weren't shown over seas?! And Superman and Superman Returns never reached 200$ million or more over seas.

Well imo people are basically the same the World over, and so it's possible that when they see this latest trailer, all of Superman's past cinematic baggage could be cast aside. If this doesn't get international butts in seats I'll be flabbergasted, and my flabber hasn't been gasted for quite a while! I predict that with Henry being from Blighty, MOS will be HUGE in the UK.

I don't get it either although my sister said she might root for Zod because Shannon is awesome.

Yeah, looks that way.

You mean Zod's ship? I think there..not the fortress, that would be "weird"...his solitude but there is a Raiders of the Lost Arc feeling in there. Or its one of the deaths during the skull dream sequence.

Does anyone know if that piece of music is from the score?

Agreed. Each trailer has been targeting different segments within the general audience. I think they have succeeded in covering most of the bases by now, but the key will be how much exposure this latest trailer gets. If it is seen by sufficient people and gets a buzz going (with still 3 weeks to go) this could open bigger than people imagine. Perhaps not IM3 big, but if it is as good as the trailers suggest, then it'll will imo likely have better legs than IM3.

Man Of Steel really needs a very big opening weekend in my opinion, although it seems like the type of film that could have solid legs which my negate the need for a bigger opening weekend. I think the TV spots are what puts asses in the seats, but this last trailer is the next best thing.

No one is saying anything for "sure"... But there is absolutely no reason to not keep hope alive. This movie might just really deserve to hit the 1 billion dollar mark. Never say never!

I just don't think it has much of a presence overseas, to even think about such a gaudy number. I also don't care if it hits a billion or not, I don't get a cut of it.

Good point - and it's truly bizarre how vastly different regions of the U.S. can be.

Are we assuming that MoS won't do phenomenally overseas because Superman is thematically/mostly an Americana character, and is therefore not as "universal"? If so, I think this movie might scratch all that. He's from another planet, anyway. I think he'll have worldwide appeal.

If anything, this movie has a better shot at a billion than Iron Man ever did. Iron Man actually is an American; Superman is not - regardless of him looking like an American flag flying around.

Just a thought. I could be wrong. It's a vastly different situation than say, Captain America.

Either way, this will be a tricky movie, and the opening weekend will be fascinating.

I actually think it is the opposite. This version of Superman is much more about American even though he is the ultimate immigrant. I do think it will do fairly well overseas strictly because it looks like it is a well done film.

If you are talking about the foreign market then I agree, Superman 2-4 weren't shown over seas?! And Superman and Superman Returns never reached 200$ million or more over seas.

Superman just doesn't play well overseas, doesn't mean that can't change, but you can only go on past trends. If you build a good movie though, they will come.

What kills the 1 Billion predictions is the overseas take.

The overseas markets are precisely the reason it's going to flirt with a Billion. Where would Asm/Avengers/Transformers3/Pirates/IM3/Inception/HP7/SkyFall....etc

Seriously where would these all be without that ridiculous 3D overseas market these days. If you have an Alist genre picture with solid appeal you've got an automatic 500-700 mill in the bag.

No offense(to anyone) but those Asians are gonna eat this up. Those Europeans are going to worship this films producers and love it's lead actor, as far as north americans are concerned this might be the spiritual successor to the dark knight series, which does gang busters over here...

A good chance overseas numbers are gonna help out big on this one.

I meant the fortress. I agree, it would be weird for his fortress to have the corpses in there, but it would make sense. In the supergirl tie-in comic, there are Kryptonians on that ship(future fortress of solitude) who were murdered. That might be one of them.

Honestly, I'm wondering if Superman will have to "clean up" the fortress and empty out those corpses. That would be interesting to watch... lmao

Anyone else think the frozen or burnt skeleton is on the ship/Fortress?
Considering what the Fortress is in this movie, and also where it is located, I'd say it's a safe bet.
