Yeah. GL had tons of problems. I wish they went with the Geoff Johns script.

YES! Geoff Johns is to Green Lantern what Frank Miller is to Batman. And he's still youngish and probably has a lot of ideas and writing ability left in him :)

I hated the GL trailers, except the wondercon footage was good. Loved, Loved Watchmen's trailer. I like that movie though, 3/4. Man of Steel trailers especially the 3rd trailer are some of the best all-time and #3 might be my favorite trailer ever.

Also, Man of Steel is screening today for critics, bloggers, and so on. Screenings will be happening regularly from today tell the 14th of June!! So hopefully we get some reactions today :)

BLOGGERS-I don't trust. Especially if they use the words "Amazeballs."

Critics- I kind of trust, but they tend to go "soft" when screening early. I remember IM3 have something like 90 something fresh until its final week.

So the only ones I actually TRUST are the people who dislike the film, but with a critical reason for doing so (though at this point, it would probably be because they hate the genre :D, or prefer ANOTHER Donnerverse take)

The first person who didnt like it had better update his Life Insurance before posting his/her review .

I hated the TDKR death threats. That is Nolanism at its ABSOLUTE worst. If it were any other director, no one would respond that extremely.

Was this filmed in IMAX and 3d?

Welp, I guess that means WB is pretty confident, I mean if they weren't allowing pre screenings, I think we'd all be going into panic mode.

The music in this spot is freaking awesome! I need to hear that full track.

Which one? He was involved and it still sucked anyway.

Most people seem to be of the mind that Geoff was like an excited kid who tried to make a load of suggestions, but was getting batted down from those above him (who were, in turn, getting batted down by those above them). He was mainly used as a reference point, it seems.

Yuck! I sure hope Geoff doesn't turn into Frank Miller, plus Geoff seems to have said his piece of Green Lantern.

That would have been interesting having now read some of Geoff Johns work, particularly his Superman stuff.
Green Lantern had similar problems as Terminator Salvation, the way I see it. Poor structure, story and pacing.

I don't think MOS will suffer from any of those problems and I wouldn't place a massive emphasis on visual effects,
like some have on these forums. The visuals look great, better than anything we've seen before. There will always
be nitpickers. Everyone has a different opinion. I can forgive the odd blemish in CGI as long as the story is solid,
has good pacing and I care about the characters.

I expect some attacks on critics who don't like the film, it happens with every comicbook film. Fanboys who haven't even seen the film will say that the critic is wrong and an idiot. And that blind fanboyism will be even worse with Man of Steel because Nolan is involved.

I don't think MOS will struggle on the visual effects part, I just hope it isn't too over the top. Like the fight with Neo and Smith at the end of Matrix Revolutions, although it was good CGI. I think they went abit over the top with the whole force bubble things every few minutes

Yeah. I remember when the late Ebert got attacked for giving Captain America:TFA a solid (and deserved) three stars. He was accused of not liking the genre, despite giving Superman 1 and 2, Batman Begins, Spider-Man 2, Watchmen, and Iron Man, 4 out of 4 stars. It was pretty crazy.

Someone should make a thread containing each review that comes in.

From all the trailers/spots so far that have shown in clear HD the scenes from the SDCC footage, I wonder if and when we will see the one thing we haven't seen yet from the SDCC trailer: the Clark glasses scene.

Ebert seemed like an okay person but I never cared about his opinion one way or the other. I mean no disrespect to the man but he just wasn't a critic I followed as we didn't have the same taste in films for the most part. 3 out of 4 stars is a good review so I don't see where the complaints come from.

Does anyone know when we can expect reactions from the MOS screenings to start rolling in? I hope they're so good that I can change my sig soon. :word:

I actually think Ebert's reviews are good at weeding out bad movies. If a film has less than 3 stars, GENERALLY speaking, it's not that good. Though I've disagreed quite a bit on his 4 star reviews ;)
