I only got to see the first bunch of images and the second lot that got posted got removed before I could see them!

Micheal Shannon on MOS: "I don't think Zack has anything to worry about. I got to see it and I'm really bowled over by what he did. I think it's really special," he said.

If MICHEAL SHANNON was "bowled over" how much more are we going to be as audiences? :wow:
Gary Oldman was 'blown away' by TDKR. We all used the rational "gary frickin Oldman wouldn't bs around" too.

And he probably was as were many posters on this forum and many critics so I don't see your point.

So because a portion of comic fans like yourself hated it, you assume Oldman was lying? Oldman and Shannon aren't comic fans, and neither are the casuals.

just because you weren't doesn't mean he wasn't or others weren't.

Well, with TDKR I think they were ALL aggressively hyping the film to dispel the worries that it wouldn't be as good as TDK. I think that was a bad decision in hindsight, because it set up unrealistic expectations about the film. MOS doesn't have that burden, it just has to be a good origin story. So I actually think Shannon might be telling the truth this time around ;)

Also, was there ever a time where an actor promoting a big budgeted film ever talk bad about the film?

I disagree. It only seemed more hyped because of the amount of coverage it got with people posting set pics and vids every day. I actually think that it wasn't hyped by WB like they did with TDK, in which they had countless virals and such. The fanboy expectation was already out of whack based on TDK. MOS is actually following TDKR's marketing down to a T.

I was talking about the actors. TDKR was BARELY hyped at ALL until the final 3 weeks or so.

That is a telling face. Snyder should avoid playing poker in the near future. Honestly I think Snyder and Goyer are more onboard the "pro-Bale" than Nolan might have been. And two against one...

What'd he actually say after that question?

Did anyone recreate the comic con trailer yet??? Coz so far all the clips are there except for the one Clark is walking into the Daily planet and putting his glasses on.

Can some genius out there do it please??

I'd be so down with a Bale/Cavill World's Finest. It's just TDKR ruined everything. 8 year retirement, followed by retirement again. I just wouldn't work despite Snyder proving that the world Superman can inhibit can appear just as palpable (if not more so) than what Nolan's world did (at least based on the trailers so far).

All they can say is he didn't retire, he just found a balance between Batman and Bruce Wayne, has a new sidekick etc. Or he sees aliens and comes out of retirement. Or Superman scouts the Earth for him and recruits him. Or Batman recruits Superman. Who knows.

What Snyder actually said is that he also heard those rumors :)

Still I'm not sure about a DC universe where Batman operated for a year(?), then disappeared for 8 years, before returning for a couple months, and then 'dying', and then Superman shows up. It would mean Batman would be in like his 40's at least and Superman is much younger and was somehow oblivious to a huge nuclear threat in North America.

I love Bale, and I loved Nolan's Batman films. But that boat has sailed. It's done, dusted.

Bringing his Batman into the start of a new Superman franchise and a new shared universe is not really going to work, compromises are going to have to be made and that's what we should really be trying to avoid. Not to mention the fact that Bale is touching 40 and has already played the character in 3 big films - is he really going to commit to more Batman films, a Justice League film, and anything else they choose to put the character in? I don't get the sense that he's absolutely in love with playing Batman (like Jackman is with Wolverine, for example) enough to do it for another decade. And that's before you even get into the technicalities and plot holes of why Batman would disappear for 8 yrs, come back, retire and then come back yet again to team up with Superman. It would be a kick in the teeth to the whole arc and conclusion of the character's path throughout Nolan's trilogy.

Better that they go with a new version of Batman specifically written for this world which Snyder has crafted in MOS, and a new actor to play him. Bale did a great job but we really need to let go now and move on.

Superman: I'll save you!

Batman: No you don't! This is MY movie!
