awesome stuff. It looks as if supes is nervous for the people of smalville.

I can't wait for their first encounter. My understanding is that Superman will have this "untouchable" feeling, not arrogance. He's lived his entire life without a scratch, without a bruise. Zod's first blow to him is going to completely throw him off balance. It's really going to knock him down a few notches and I love that.

Agreed. Not to mention, that we'll also get to see Clark use his abilities at their fullest and on the offense for the first time and seeing as how we've never really seen Superman throw a real punch on a theatrical version of a superman film, it should be quite a moment when he throws his first punch.

On a side note, I hope that Zod, Faora, and Nam-ek aren't the only kryptonians that Superman's facing in "Smallville". If Zod has the likes of Tor-an, Dev-em, and even another female kryptonian soldier at his disposal, I want to see them on the action as well.

I think you can also see in that Smallville showdown that Clark is seeing the fear of people that Jonathan Kent warned him about.

That was incredible! All those people scattering into their shops scared sh**less. And my lord, how good does Cavill look in that suit and Faora too! My hype meter has gone up a notch or two after this! Love it!

a modern day old west showdown complete with people running into businesses and locking the doors.

I hope that this isn't all of the ´´never before seen - exclusive footage`` from The Battle of Smallville that they said will pop up today. Because with 2 weeks out it's time for first clips to start appearing. :word:

Awesome! And Bruce Timm and Synder working on an animated short? :hrt:

It's completely unsettling and I love it. Faora and that genetically altered Kryptonian Zod lackey marching towards Superman in that panicked Smallville town is just terrific.

The look of anger, fear, uncertainty and power emanating from Superman is incredible.

Just amazing all around.

Really excited about the Zack Snyder/Bruce Timm Superman short... :woot:

It's awesome seeing this scene.....

I LOVE the look on his face. I don't see Henry Cavill anymore. I see Superman!

What? Where have you heard this?

Details for the short are being kept secret (maybe in a lead vault?), but insiders tell Heat Vision Snyder envisioned one continuous shot, without edits, that's an homage to the Man of Steel and his many iterations over the past 75 years: Max Fleischer's cartoons, on-screen portrayals by George Reeve and Christopher Reeves, iconic versions drawn by artists Wayne Boring, Curt Swan and Neal Adams, on up through Henry Cavill’s interpretation in Man of Steel.

Joining Snyder in the endeavor are animation veteran Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League) and Man of Steel storyboard artist Jay Oliva, as well as DC’s Geoff Johns and Mike Carlin and WB Animation’s Peter Girardi.

Absolutely. I've looked at those set photos so many times since they came online, and wondered what the final thing would look like.

Wonder if you look hard enough you can see someone taking photos right back in the frame :p

Oh that sounds epic.

So is this short going to play before MOS?

Warner and DC are planning to show an animatic version of the two-minute short, which is being worked on in Los Angeles, London and Korea, during this summer’s Comic-Con, ahead of a fall debut across multiple platforms

Per Hollywood Reporter...

I know that Zack, Goyer and Nolan are aiming for a "realistic" approach to this film - as much as possible of course. So, when I look at the picture above (and this will happen in the movie), I can't help but wonder how something like that doesn't quite make sense. What do you mean? Well. Granted, Zod is strong enough to send Superman flying towards the air with a simple punch (as we see superman do to him in tv-spot 9 or 10). But here, Zod is sending Superman hurling through the air as a result of clobbering him with a construction-beam he uses for a baseball bat... Umm. Wouldn't the beam break long before superman would ever move an inch? In fact. He shouldn't be moving anywhere. The beam should just break, right? Am I the only one who's thought about this? And isn't it a little bit dumb if something like that won't be explained in the film?

Your answer to the above really shouldn't be, "just go with it. Don't think too much about stuff like that". Well. I'm really having a tough time just "going with it", if not given an explanation in the movie. I mean, from the very start they've kept talking about the true physics behind the movies action and stuff. I've more than ones heard Snyder talk about how they thought about it actually looking if Superman were to be hit by a car or other stuff like that. Which is cool! - But then how come they haven't been thinking more simpler about that very subject? Superman would be ****ing breaking the stuff hitting him, and not the other way around!? IF only given some kind of smart and creative explanation for it, then don't get me wrong, I'm all for it. But I DO want an explanation.

I actually brought this exact same thing up once... Most people don't realize these kind of things because let's face it, it requires some sort of understanding of physics... and most film makers don't care much about logic/physics as much, or, as someone pointed out, it's 'cooler' so see superman fly backwards than to see the metal bend around him or break off...

I definitely agree on the 'cool' factor and won't complain about this fact... it can be easily overlooked.. (but there are major plot holes i just can't overlook like the matrix,... advanced robots using humans as batteries???? and that's the entire premise of the show...)

I love how he seems a bit afraid during the walk.

Small nitpic. But does it seem like it's sunny blue skys at the start there, and then as the camera pans around you can even tell where the different daytime changes (and if you pause it quickly during that pan, Faora and Nam-Ek(?) aren't even on the street). Then back to Superman and it's now overcast (his suit alot darker too). I guess they filmed this a few times and it's just the different takes at different times of the day being cut together. Still it looks awesome.

This movie looks so good. Can't wait to see this in IMAX LieMAX.
