:lmao: I've been reading some of the set reports and I swear, I lose it every time I read "Nolan Clause".

See he doesn't even have to be on set ... and people know better than to say anything too revealing ... he's the alpha male of that crew.

:woot:

To summarise what the MOS Team have revealed...

The Superman Suit is a Kryptonian Enviromental Suit that is used for space travel. It keeps the body together and protects it like an astronaut suit would a human in space. It used undernearth armor and such because it is skin and adds added protection.

When Zod, Faora, Nam-Ek etc arrive on Earth they will only be access "basic" powers straight away ie Speed, Strength, Invulnerability. The longer they soak up Solar Energy the more of their powers they can access. Kal-El will have access to all of his powers (he just doesn't know it yet). Nam-Ek strangles Kal-El and he suddenly starts bursting out Heat Vision that he didn't know he had. It will take the hostile aliens a while to gain their power to fly which is why Nam-Ek takes a running jump to tackle the A-10's. I believe that Faora will be technically skilled with her powers. Obviously by the climax of the film all the aliens access their full powers.

So why doesn't Zod fly? Why does he climb the side of te building? He clearly has the same under suit on...So your point is moot.

I hope WB separates from him soon...he's taking all the fun out of comic book movies and making them realistic and OVERLY serious. You make a movie serious and still make it fun...start making comic book movies, not movies where comic book characters exist in the real world

Well, at least it's not a quick car ride away from Smallville ... as it was on the tv show.

Oh, that was terrible. Nothing against Kansas, which I'm sure is a lovely state, but why would Metropolis, the megaboss of cities, be in Kansas instead of the East coast, where historically it would have had closer contact with Europe and the such, giving way to its economic, political and social superdevelopment?

and Faora clearly has the same skin suit Superman has on...so that point is moot

If that were the case then Kryptonians would be able to fly on Krypton as well, but judging by what we know, they clearly can't on their own.

You mad? Making Fantastic Comic Book Characters like Superman exist in a hyper realistic world is a miles better cinematic experience. To me The Avengers felt like a TV Movie.

That's fine and all ... but find someone who can good films with DC characters (maybe Snyder is one) ... it's hard to get away from your cash cow, whose format and style has made billions. This is the style that's currently making DC 'different' than Marvel.

Having a tough time deciding on which format I want to see Man of Steel on midnight of the 13th. I want to see this bad boy on the biggest screen near me but unfortunately, that means paying to see it in 3D.

Granted, I'm seeing it again on the 15th in 2D for date night. Still, I just hate 3D. Star Trek Into Darkness Digital IMAX 3D was great but I just wished it played in good old fashion 2D IMAX.

Might just have to bite the bullet on the midnight screening and pay for the 3D. Still, 3D sucks.

Cant stand 3D either. it gives me a headache. Our theater offers 3D but we will just hit the 12:30 show in 2D on the 14th.

You're entitled to your opinion but :whatever:

Couple of notes. Firstly, the theater I got advanced tickets for only had three showings left: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all at 3:10. There was still the midnight opening, however they will obviously utilize multiple screens for that, so I have no way to gauge it. Take that for what you will.

Secondly, in this shot:

I will try to explain this as best I can so if it doesn't make sense, my apologies now.

While I agree that there is definitely some fear, uncertainty, etc in these shots, this one in particular also makes me see some frustration, which makes me wonder if there has been some dialogue. As if he's been trying to talk to Faora but she just isn't having it and so finally he just mouth-clenches and starts to move forward as if to say, "fine, have it your way."

Batman movies. He doesn't control the comic book film industry.

Same. I hope they use Barry too. I always thought that The Flash as a franchise would work great with a TDKR type ending BEFORE TDKR, mind you. Lol. And best of all it follows the original comics if you do it that way. My ideas for a Flash trilogy if they were doing a DCU ala the Marvel Movie U would be like this:

Flash 1: Origin, villain is the Mirror Master
Flash 2: Barry discovers time/dimension/reality travel by accident with his powers, works with Jay Garrick (Flash of different dimension) and fights Reverse Flash aka Thawne, young Wally West is introduced, maybe gets powers and is shown as Kid Flash
Flash 3: BIG EPIC END to THE FLASH trilogy, Flash faces off against the ANTI MONITOR, other DCU heroes appear (JLAers, Superman, Batman, WW, GL, etc, but this isn't their movie so they're supporting characters who are doing things off screen mostly), Wally is more seasoned as Kid Flash now, Barry in the end makes the ultimate sacrifice, a very young Wally gets The Flash ring/suit, it's the last scene in the movie.

This sets it up for a film series down the line or potential tv series and they can do it like the Star Wars films in a way and use the "original" trilogy as the background/basis for it and have a "new" ("prequel" but NOT "prequel" trilogy if we're talking in Star Wars terms) with Wally, in the third film of the Wally series, have Barry Allen return/Wally bring him back or 'save' him or whatever and they all live happily ever after; Jay, the alternate reality Flash, Barry, the 'original' Flash, Wally, the torch bearer, and Impulse/Bart, the symbol of the future speedsters.
Dude! That sounds awesome!
Okay, last thing. Did you catch Barry's portrayal on 'Young Justice'? What little he was in, I really liked. Loved the voice actor too. A guy from 'CSI' I believe.

Uh... Back back to Superman! :oldrazz:

Got advanced tickets in 2D today. Not a fan of 3d, I find it distracting. Found out IMAX plays all the same previews before and everything, but all they had were 3D advanced tickets for IMAX, so I went regular.

3D doesn't bother me in terms of how it effects my vision when I watch a film in 3D. It's just doesn't do anything for my experience. The lone exception was the Hobbit in 48 fps. It was the best 3D presentation I'd ever seen and I swore back when it was released in December that I wasn't going to ever watch another 3D presentation unless it was in 48fps.

Problem with that stance was that Abrams filmed 30 minutes of Into Darkness using IMAX cameras and I just had to see the USS Enterprise in IMAX resolution. So, I reluctantly purchased a 3D ticket just for the IMAX sequences alone. It was worth it but it would've even better in just 2D IMAX.

With Man of Steel, I shouldn't see it in 3D because it was shot anarmophically and in a constant ratio. But damn it, I need to see this film for the first time in the largest screen possible. There's just no way I can just go to a regular screening for the first showing of Man of Steel. No way.

Absolutely silly. If Nolan can't have any credit on the movie (beyond being a launchpad), he can't take any criticism either. This movie is "realistic" because Goyer, Snyder, his photographer and his production designer make it so. Not Nolan.

I always thought of Metropolis as a fictionalized New York because it always seemed to be presented as THE American city.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not sure I'll be seeing MOS in 3D the first viewing, if ever.

Pair the fact that its post-converted 3D with the fact that it was shot entirely on handheld and you have the makings of a bad 3D experience.

The little that I saw with the trailer attached to Iron Man 3 made me very worried.

The sense of depth wasn't really there as much as it should and it was very blurry at times.

No point in worrying on it. It is what it is. However, I cant deny the fact that if they had a suit that helped me fly I would be all over that s***!
I second that, especially if my flying suit looked as good as Henry"s Superman outfit .
