Cavill prefers the Marvel way than WB's "wing it" approach: “If Warner Bros. were to come to me and say: ‘okay cool we’re planning this, how would you want to do it,’ you’d have to introduce various characters, so it’s not like ‘Bam!’ the world’s full of god-like superheroes. You’d have to find them and introduce them through various movies, and then bring them all together with a major threat that happens.

Whether that threat would be Doomsday, or Brainiac, or whatever we don’t know, but there would have to be a lot more storyline to have the audience be okay with an introduction to, say, Brainiac or Doomsday.”

Yes. I also want them to go "smaller' in the sequel. They can bring up the threat up in the third film or "World's Finest."

The problem with WB is that they don't think about planning movies from a comic book and creative standpoint. They're concerned only with profitting off their own franchises. If they could create a DC Cinematic Studios where they are responsible for their own comic book franchises, and actually plan things out ahead of time; we'd have not only a plan, but faith that maybe they wouldn't be solely existent for cash grabs.

I want MOS 2 then Worlds Finest

Do a compromise, WB. Let's face it, your history with solo flicks is highly sketch, and there haven't been any strong films outside of the S and B, other than the comic adaptations of stand-alone work like V for Vendetta and Watchmen. So don't try to bring to life the amount of stand-alone characters that Marvel does. It just wouldn't work. Goyer wants to write the Wonder Woman movie. Whedon has already developed the script for that. Think of casting a director who is experienced in adapting a grand-scale dramatic story like Peter Jackson or Snyder. Heck, by the time you get around to it, Whedon might be done by the Avengers.

So start with MOS2, and don't stand in the way of the screenwriters. Let a good script that Jonah Nolan can approve to be developed for the next major hitter. Yes, she's female. Milk Goyer as the writer of Blade, Batman Begins, and Man of Steel for the WW movie, as he will probably get the job. Have a functional, serious looking suit for WW be required. Fill the supporting cast with bankable but appropriate stars, if possible. I want WW to be the most appropriate for the part, not necessarily known. And then STAND back.
After MOS2 and Wonder Woman, a World's Finest movie can "reboot" the Batman character by establishing him in a world completely more fantastical than Nolan's. Find the writers that deal with the JLA tv animation to write the story and possibly the dialog for the film.
Then "hint" at the league at the end, go back to MOS3 as a 95 percent stand-alone work before ending with someone like Batman or Wonder Woman saying that they're building an organization to combat threats bigger than Superman himself, and show a silhouette of someone like Doomsday,Darkseid, whatever the writer chooses for the sequel.

Then sequel MOS3 with a JLA movie. It's simple, and would take about 6 or so years. If I were you, I'd be having Goyer get to working on WW right now, if he wants to of course ;)

Or just let James Tucker be your Kevin Faige. I'm assuming you've heard of Kevin?

To me, a 2015 World's Finest movie would be a good compromise between those who want MOS2 for 2015 and those who want JL for 2015.

How did we get back to the age old discussion of the JLA film?lol

I say screw compromise. MOS 2 makes the most sense as the next Cavill/Superman vehicle. I'm glad Snyder agrees.

It's going to be Man of Steel 2 in 2015...

Indeed; I just don’t understand the logic of why some insist on rushing into a JLA film right after the potential success of just ONE Superman film under their belts, which is an origin film nonetheless.

If WB's thinking about money here, JL could spin off more solo franchises than any solo movie would do on its own.

I have this crazy idea, that for WB and DC to catch up to where Marvel is right now, they really need to go all out. I'm thinking something like the LOTR trilogy - one massive story spanning three films that will give just enough time to introduce different characters without compromising the plot or the storyline. For the sake of narrative symmetry, ideally it would have two superbeings, two humans and one who is somewhere in between - namely Superman and Wonder Woman, Batman and Green Arrow and finally, Green Lantern. That allows for just enough tension and friction between the protagonists themselves as it would between them and the villains.

I pray the day comes when I'll get to see DC's two biggest business tycoons - Wayne and Luthor, go head to head against each other. It will be glorious.

Christ, does everything have to be a shared universe?! This notion that WB doesn't care about these characters is ridiculous. If they didn't care, they wouldn't have let Nolan have carte blanche with Batman....

Man of Steel 2 > JL for me.

How is it an "age old" discussion? It's been discussed for a while.

It's more of an figure of speech and I remember this topic being discusses as far back as last year.

If WB's thinking about money here, JL could spin off more solo franchises than any solo movie would do on its own.

And in the same time, if MOS makes a boat load of money, it'd be more safer and still profitable for them to rely on making a MOS 2 film first before going to a JLA film. We've had people commenting on how while Warner Bros. does have a JLA film in their sights, they're nowhere near ready on having it launched and having it coming out in 2015 and being in decent quality is very unrealistic. Not to mention, there's not as much indication that it'd be as successful as they're hoping that it could be.

Honestly, I'm open to the idea of having a JLA film released but when it's the right time and when it could make the most amount of money. Having it released in 2015 isn't the best time for that imho.

Did anyone else get that MOS special of Little White Lies?

Mine just arrived this morning, and it looks like a good read. Not got time to read it tonight, but looking forward to doing so tomorrow :)

Yeah, it's been discussed for a while now.

I understand what you're saying, which is why I won't be surprised if WB chooses to go with MOS2. However, I also won't be surprised if they go with JL because of the multiple franchise potential it has. MOS2 would be incredibly profitable, but I personally see JL being even more profitable.

WB is not stupid if MOS is a hit they will be making a sequel to their hit movie, not a spin-off. Bank on it. I expect 2016 though.

This. And if I were WB, I'd have another character ready to go for Summer 2017...be it Wonder Woman, Flash, or Batman. But have something ready for the following summer after Man of Steel 2 hits in Summer 2016.

I think in the Access Hollywood video, Amy says Lois is clued in. She's not having to deny things along the way. She's entrusted with info. More and more evidence pours in telling us Lois knows his secret.
