Oh, almost forgot, Amy Adams on Kimmel tomorrow night, which means we'll have our first clip!

So I have to ask, and you may have already answered, but how in the world did you get "invited" to a screening? Do you work in the industry or something? What part of the country do you live? Sorry, but I'm just curious.

There are various ways to get RSVP codes, but mostly you have to be invited, but sometimes they do promotions on your local radio station/tv station or concerts, festivals, etc. We got our RSVP code for TDKR by chance. I work in downtown Austin and at the paramount they were doing some kind of promotion, so I went over on my lunch break signed up and they gave me a RSVP code for the screening at the IMAX. Got lucky I guess.

But for MOS, I think they are having the gofobo pre screening early next week, and I was unable to find a RSVP code.

Well, when I saw TDKR through gofobo there was a huge line, but we got there pretty early so we were towards the front. They had reserved the very front of the line for the press. I think we got there 3 hours early. What they did was had some ushers start at the front of the line checking everyone's pass and handing out the wrist bands, I think that was around 2 hours before showtime, so we were waiting about an hour before they handed out the confirmations. Also, when they were out of wristbands, they had someone stand at the entrance turning people away, so they didn't have to wait in line for no reason.

I'll be showing up 3 hours earlier, just to be safe. So when you got there, the press was already there or did they just show up later and get to the front anyway due to it being reserved?

And did you have to sign something?

Press didn't start showing up until 1 hour before, but that's because they started seating us around 30 mins prior to showtime.

No I didn't sign anything, just the usually turn phones off, not cameras, we have people with night vision goggles watching you and will escort you out if caught haha.

ThePowerCosmic, what time exactly are you seeing it and what timezone are you in?

Thanks for the info!

There won't be any trailers before, right?

You know you can't post bootleg images...?

Man... The press nearly screwed me over during our Gatsby showing. They had like 4 rows reserved. Thankfully there were some kind souls that made room for me and my wife by moving couple of seats over. Get there as early as possible! Call the theatere and ask what time the doors for the showing open.

I'm seeing it tomorrow at 7:30 pm. Central Standard Time is my zone.

Currently, it's 12:04 pm where I am.

Wow, this is the first time that I have EVER heard of Gofobo. Which really sucks because there very well could have been an early screening here or another city close to me. Oh well, live and learn I guess. So now I know, and knowing is half the battle. :cwink:

You don't think 3 hours is early enough?

Ugh. I really am at the point now where I'm just ready to see the film. I've seen enough footage. These next 4 weeks for me will be the worst.

Gobofo and advancescreenings.com are very useful.

If I can recall, TDKR there weren't any trailers before, but when I saw trouble with the curve there were.

Sidenote, when I saw TDK (this was pre gofobo) Harry Knowles and some of the guys from the Spill crew were in attendance, (Cory, Leon, Carlyle when he was part of that), so it was kind of cool to know you were seeing it the same time they did. I don't recall seeing them when I saw TDKR though.

4 weeks?! I'm sorry.
Yeah because

So unfair.

Cool, so I can show up 2-3 hours earlier and get my ticket/wristband right away? I remember I showed up to The Avengers 1 hour early and it still wasn't enough time. Never making that mistake again.

And are there normally long lines for big movies like this?

I don't know about the ticket/wristband thing. In LA at least, most advance screenings don't have any reserved seating i.e. first come, first served. You stand in line for 2 hours to get a good seat (or just to get in). I remember the Oblivion advance screening, the line had started forming 4 hours before the movie started - granted, that was a special case since Tom Cruise was there to introduce the movie to the audience and do a Q&A session post the movie.

But for a big movie, the earlier you show up, the better.

It really should be. Just make sure you know when the theatre room they're showing it opens. That's the big thing. As soon as those doors open, sit your butt down! Lol

The Spill crew was there? Awesome! I wish I knew how they looked in real life, so if I saw them I would know. I know what Harry looks like.

Been sat here with e4 on for the last hour or so. Have seen 3 MOS tv spots, one in each ad break :D

Are you allowed to talk about anything once returning from the screening? I'm so ignorant to the rules it's ridiculous...
