I kind of like the idea of "period piece" WW. One, I like period pieces in general and we rarely get them in CB movies. And it's immediately set her apart from the other films. Plus, it'd be cool if WW has been inspiring people for that long. I'd prefer that the entire movie be that way, Plus I can see "compassion and love" WW being absolutely horrified at the pointless butchery of places like Verdun, Gallipoli, Passchendaele, Caporetto, etc.
Also, WWI sounds more interesting than WWII. WWII has been played around in A LOT in fiction. WWI not nearly to the same degree, despite being really important in it's own right.
I agree. I prefer WW1. It would be a newer experience for many that doesn't know what happened there and seeing Wonder Woman doing something about it.I kind of like the idea of "period piece" WW. I agree with everything except past Steve Trevor. Actually I would see greater if it's the opposite... Past Trevor for the same reason of the anomaly appearing in the present. But I want present day Trevor with the same incident being the catalyst of her returning to Man's world better.U took the words right out of my typing fingers, lol. Seriously though, what's the point of having an immortal character if they don't showcase various time periods throughout history? It'd be a disservice to the character if they didn't. And with the latest rumor being half the story is set in past and half in present, it seems everyone might get their wish.
What I'm hoping is Trevor's jet crashes into the island because of MOS world engine, but it also causes a temporal anomaly, perhaps due to mystical properties of island's force field, and modern-day Trevor time travels and lands on Themyscira during WW1. Steve and Diana share adventures back then and she eventually returns him to his present time and promises him they'll meet again. Then, present-day Diana, still young, simply shows up in modern times and reunites with Trevor. For her, it seems like they've been separated for almost 100 yrs. For him? Perhaps only hours passed. I also agree with others that they'd be crazy not to have WW tie into the JL plot somehow.
Magic bullets/arrows/spears, Centaur blood poisoning...I still doubt that she's full-on "immortal." That would kill pretty much any sort of tension. I'd imagine that she's "immortal" in the same way that say, the elves in LOTR are "immortal." They're un-aging, or at least age VERY slowly, and don't really get sick/ill. However, they can be killed in battle, or by other means.

Watch Bean end up playing Trevor's superior officer.
