I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see the Amazons interrogate Steve, I thought they were gonna deep-six the truth compelling power of the lasso

Yes. It's wonderful (pun intended) that they're showing Wonder Woman's unique skills / tools. Hopefully it's consistent too.

It would be amusing to see a scene in Justice League where Batman is getting psyched up to interrogate some evil-doer (presumably without his "bat" brand) and Diana calmly walks in, lays her lasso over the evil-doer and asks him questions.

I was worried they would downplay the lasso entirely, and not be used that much in fights in favour of the sword. So it was great to see it in the trailer and to see it used for all it powers. It's a cool weapon for WW.

You guys Think Diana will be killing WW1 soldiers? It seems kind of unfair for her to do, being much stronger than all of them combined

Well since Batman and Superman seem to be killing. I'd imagine Wonder Woman would kill too.

Also those Amazons in the trailers seem to be going for the kill to in that charge against those soldiers

Seconded.

Connie Nielsen bragged about her character killing many German soldiers when she was on the "Women Who Kick Ass" panel at SDCC.

Am sure they'll kill. Protecting their home at all cost..plus those soldiers look trigger happy

I would have cried if it was underused. Getting upset just at the thought of it. :csad:

hehe..they're waiting

*rollseyes* Some destruction happening, while waging a war in a warzone, is quite a bit different than deliberately taking a fight from the middle of nowhere into the middle of town.

I don't actually expect WW to have seriously problems with excess collateral damage. Its WWI, most of the destruction will be appropriately contextualized. If anything, my main concern is that the movie will be a little too eager with the "killing German soldiers is fun" meme, while being in the wrong war for that to be appropriate.

What does "fairness" have to do with war? Either the fight is just, in which case you should be winning it as swiftly and decisively as possible, or its not, in which case you shouldn't be fighting in the first place.

War is not a game.

Expect to see WW throwing some pipes through Nazi soldiers' necks. :o

War is won by complete annihilation or submission. So if these soldiers don't wanna die by the hands of a bad ass Amazon. They should place their guns on the ground and place their hands on their head.

I mean... how much sympathy can you have for any soldier who doesn't instantly surrender when he realizes he's fighting a seemingly bullet-proof, invincible woman. That's just what we call natural selection.

I'm not sure. I would hope that the use of lethal force is kept to a minimum. I imagine that she will kill some soldiers on the beach when she's protecting Steve Trevor and defending her home from invasion.

At that time, she may realise just how superior she is as a warrior to men (and women) from man's world. As such, she may tone down her attacks when she leaves Themyscira with Trevor.

A lot probably depends upon which origin they follow for Diana. Are all Amazons super powered? If so, then Diana will have no experience in "pulling her punches" so to speak and it would be understandable if it takes Diana some time to realise that non-Amazons are so much weaker than her. If Diana is uniquely super powered amongst the Amazons, then she would have spent 5,000 years learning how to interact, spar, make love, etc with women much, much weaker than her and would no doubt apply the same ... precautions in her battles when in man's world.

I don't have any issue with Wonder Woman killing when necessary and as a last resort. That's always been part of her characters and a key point of difference from the comic book versions of Superman and Batman with their strict no-killing policies. But, if Wonder Woman is fully aware of her supreme physical advantage and tears through soldiers like they're made of paper with no regard for stopping them using non-lethal force, then I'll be concerned.

I could see it as she's only fighting to protect Trevor & the team we saw in the BvS photo, the sequence in the rooms could be her taking out snipers to allow the team to get to safety.

I have no issues with her killing at will.

Bring on the double standard!

Amazons have a policy of not letting "Man" live (or leave) once they set foot in their Island. :o

Although she is tougher than any mortal, WW doesn’t have the same level of invulnerability as Superman. So in theory, a lucky gunshot or blade strike could get past her shield/bracelets defenses and end her. Thus, she’s more morally justified than Supes in using lethal force under general combat conditions.

Of course, if it’s insisted that WW has a longstanding/traditional “no kill code,” then that’s the end of the conversation. And appeals to “self defense” or “just war” become irrelevant.

In BvS she took DD blast full on after cutting it's hand so she's strong enaf for a lucky gunshot

She doesn't have a no kill rule. Didn't in the comics she cut somebody's head off on national tv? I'm hazy on the details around it but I remember thinking "ohh my god".
