He may be the only fresh critic on RT. :lmao:

So someone other than Andy Lea jumped the gun and posted it pre-embargo...

Andy Lea @andyleasreviews

Replying to @Tay_Hartman and @BatmanNewsCom
It was me! I'm embargoed but I suppose they started it. It really is good. Dark but funny too. Gadot is great and the Amazons are brilliant

Dark. Dark.... oh my man. lol

dark? oh my fudge... yes. :ilv:

"Dark". Give me dark

Great!

But it's so weird though. What is the process? Did they ask to see his review?

I'm guessing they've beent told to finish their reviews but not to release it until the embargo's over.

There is a 20% chance this is rotten, based on his record, lol, let's ignore the 80% and panick, because if there is a 1% chance, we must treat it as an absolute.

Dark, funny, romance, action - the 4 quads they need to complete a box office hit =P

Seriously there needs to be detective work on who leaked it, WB? Lol.

Well it does take place during "The War to End All Wars" :sly:

My guess is he saw it and gave it to WB to use at their leisure. They liked it so they used it. If they hadnt it would be sitting in a pile on someone's desk ;) It want really leaked as they are allowed to print what they want. They control the narrative during the embargo :)

Yeah that's what I meant. That was an official poster so it has to be WB who put it there.

This whole "no marketing" bs btw was started by the lovely Grace Randolph when Marvel announced Cap. Marvel.

It's great that the review is legit. Not sure I like it being dark though. Wonder Woman doesn't seem like a character for a dark movie. The only dark superhero movies should be Batman's.

World War was a dark moment in history.

Depends on the storylines because honestly the Wonder Woman animated movie got pretty damn dark and had decapitation in it....didn't stop it from having an optimistic outlook and some humor though

Huh. That is weird. I'm not sure. Maybe since it was a press screening - meaning WB invited them to see it early and not with the public - that means that WB received the reviews early for promo like this.

But is that the overall tone of WW?

We know Batman has had lighthearted stories, but overall he's a dark character.

So far the DCEU has kept a similar dark tone in all of their movies. MoS was dark for a Superman movie, BvS was dark all the way, SS was funnier but still had a dark tone and now it looks like WW is going to be dark.

In my opinion the DCEU would be a lot more interesting if they changed the tone from film to film, according to the main character. Geoff Johns has already adressed this and hopefully they'll change it, although JL also seems to be pretty dark too.

I think that I posted it before but it's worth reposting. Seems to me that Saïd Taghmaoui, Eugene Brave Rock and Ewen Bremner all have roles whereby they could not say much about.

Eugene Brave Rock
Mystery Native Superhero in DC’s ‘Wonder Woman’ is Eugene Brave Rock

Eugene Brave Rock spoke with ICTMN, and shared one bit of information.

“I am only allowed to say I was in London for five months filming the Wonder Woman movie. That is all I am allowed to say,” said Brave Rock.

He does add, “It was an amazing experience.”

That’s it. No spoilers, no character name, no insider news … that’s all Eugene Brave Rock could tell us. He says everything about his part is top secret.

“When I was auditioning, they didn’t even tell me it was for Wonder Woman.”

Brave Rock did say that director Patty Jenkins — the first female director of a major DC franchise movie — and DC Comics were extremely respectful of Brave Rock’s Native heritage.

“DC really let me have a voice. Usually movies have a lot of do’s and dont’s and they tell you you have to do things a certain way, but in this case, even with wardrobe, it was awesome. In the end, they let me decide a lot about my character. Previously, movies have even told me how I had to braid my hair, and you don’t have a choice – but this was not the case.”

Ewen Bremner

I play a character who's enlisted by Wonder Woman to help save the world as part of a small, unlikely band. He's a shellshocked soldier who's been discharged from the war and is brought back to help on a secret mission.

Saïd Taghmaoui
Interview translated from a French magazine Ultra's October issue:
I'll be playing a superhero, but details are still under wraps, so I can't tell you much.

The war plus it's the WWI ,it will be dark. Personally I like that

A pretty good portion of modern Wonder Woman stories have dealt with themes of war and peace, or serious issues faced by women and the downtrodden or persecuted. Darker and serious makes perfect sense. She's very much a symbol of hope in a troubled world.
