After looking at main points of Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman script, I realized how difficult it is to capture the essence of WW's character, (keep in mind that Michelle Mc Laren's take was also not good to get a green signal form WB)

Patty captures the spirit of the character in a natural way, I would rather have her direct a WW sequel, I am really afraid about other directors taking on WW solo movie now.

There are plenty of great options available for Superman, for WW, there's only one.

I completely agree with WW is a very hard character to capture.
However I think that Superman is also very difficult to present on the silver screen. He is a very pure character, and with so many past renditions it's hard to tell a story in a new refreshing way that will both capture the character's essence and be exciting. Jenkins has a real passion for superman. When you hear her talk about the character you can tell she gets it, just like Wonder Woman.
Also, I think having a woman director for a big budget superman film seems like a really big step in the right direction. It seems like they searched for a female director only because it's a female driven movie, same with captain marvel. I think having a woman director for Superman will be making a far bigger statement. I believe that the best person should get the job regardless of gender but there seems to be something wrong with with only 2 movies directed by women out of 25 superhero genre movies (not including fox).

If Wonder Woman hold up Patty can do whatever she likes and I'll watch it :cwink:

Yeah, but that doesn't mean anything in regards to “capturing the essence". That split could easily have been over budget, DCEU piece fitting and anything in between. If it was MacLaren's film that was coming out, with the same lead, similar concept and its own money shots, folks would be just as pumped. There are as many options for a WW director as there are stories to draw good material from.

I imagine Patty Jenkins is going to get a slew of projects after this. It does depend when WB wants the sequel released.

If there's a sequel in the present let it be not in America. The world is to big

We know that WB were not able to get it right for so many years, also David E Kelly's Wonder Woman proved to be a disastrous, so I stand by my point, that is, getting WW is not an easy task.

Just money shots, good action, CGI, great score might be enough for Thor, not WW.

Yeah keep Batman out of it...have her at odds with the police or some Government Agency.

Glad to know Gal, Chris, and Patty all wearing blue to the premiere. They looked good together.

If this film performs well financially, I think I'd prefer the sequel to be set primarily on Themyscira.

Patty Jenkins has lot of passion for WW, im fine with her directing another one. But i feel they could get more notes from WW writers like Gail simone or Greg Rucka.

Wonder Woman sequel confirmed by Zack Snyder during the chinese premiere of the movie

With or without any of the JL superheroes?

I don't mind the WWI approach with the upcoming movie but I still wish that her first solo was set primarily in Themyscira and that the sequel takes her to the modern world. But given where the DCEU is and that it's a shared universe, I get that they needed to accelerate her story and establish her in the modern world. I wouldn't mind a sequel in Themyscira though, but we still don't know if she can return to the Island. I feel that she can't. But I guess any cosmic or god threat that could disrupt the sanctuary of the Amazons will push her to go back whether she's banished from the Island or not.

I don't get the point of limiting the sequel to Themyscira. With superheroes out of shadows after JL.

i just want more WW movies that's all i ask. it's about time.

Aquaman should feature if a JL member should pop in . He's in the same mythical category as her.

Good idea....plus I personally want to see more Aquaman.

The sequel can feature scenes on the isle in modern day as they may know of her current status as a hero, but she should probably be globetrotting a little in the sequel. My guess is hunting down Cheetah or something.

I'd prefer without. And bringing the sequel back to Themyscira provides them with a perfect excuse for not including other heroes (the whole "no guys allowed" thing).

The sequel could deal with an extremist Amazonian faction trying to usurp control from Hippolyta (led by Giganta), or it could deal with the witch Circe being freed from captivity and wanting to enslave/exterminate all male life on Earth. And you could use Circe to set up Cheetah for a third film.
