Connie Nielsen is a Modern Day Wonder Woman:

Excerpt:
“Patty and I met in London, and we just hit it off from the get-go. We couldn’t stop talking. What was supposed to be a one-hour meeting turned into a two-and-a-half-hour lunch and we just really got each other,” Nielsen says of her first meeting with the director. “I really saw what she was trying to do. She’s trying to do a new paradigm for women and this genre of action film. I was delighted hearing her vision from the beginning and couldn’t wait to get started with the character.” Nielsen jumped wholeheartedly into transforming herself into the a warrior queen. She worked out six hours every day and ended up being in the best shape of her life. “I had to do two hours of horseback riding, two hours of very strenuous weight training and conditioning, and two hours of sword fighting,” she says of the rigorous regime. “The sword fighting was amazing. It was astounding. I loved every second of it. I really love working out anyway. It’s something I really enjoy, what it does to my body and my mind. Getting this whole experience with horses as well was incredible.”

I imagine Patty Jenkins is going to get a slew of projects after this. It does depend when WB wants the sequel released.

apparently after she made Monster and made Theron win an Oscar way back in 2003, she didn't really have a lot of doors open up for her. This is her first gig in 13 years, not by choice but because she struggled to get work. She's tied to WW now so she won't have any problems and with WB being as devoted and true-blue to it's directors as it is, even if she isn't assigned the WW sequels, I can see her being able to dabble in WB productions from now on at her leisure. Still the future is looking bright for her. Good for her :wlso:

I think the sequel can be an exploration of her lineage and her interacting/investigating the pantheon of Greek Deities. We just need a good plot device to have her be solo throughout the story, without being able to get help from the other leaguers. I don't want it to be an MCU situation where it's like "oh the entire world is in danger of imminent destruction? millions if not billions are about to be killed? the literal president of the USA is being held hostage by terrorists? where are the other heroes? ...meh. We don't need to justify their absence" and everyone just kind of rolls with it.

Good idea....plus I personally want to see more Aquaman.

And I would certainly not mind WW showing up in the Aquaman movie as well. Consulting on some mystical artifact or sumthin' like that.

It's not her first gig in 13 years, just her first non-TV gig. She has several TV credits on her imdb.

I wonder if we'll see Queen Hippolyta in action. I'm guessing it would probably be in the beach battle against the Germans.
I don't think that she'll be leading the battle --that would be Robin Wright's General Antiope. If I'm going to guess, Hippolyta's action will probably be brief and at the very beginning. She'll most likely be in action in JL's prologue.

Yes, and she will also appear 'in action' in Justice League movie.

IIRC, she said that she was pregnant at the time and that family life generally took over. This coupled with the lack of opportunities probably are the reasons why her film career didn't took off after the critical acclaim of her writing-directing Monster.

So.. there's a youtube video from the China premiere and you can hear the crowd when they see the 30 minutes worth of clips. You can hear the audio of the movie too, so I listned to only about 20 seconds and the crowd seemed engaged.

Link?

well yes I thought that much was obvious. Otherwise she wouldn't even be directing 13 years later if it hasn't still been her profession this whole time

Yeah I mean they wouldn't put her through sword fighting training just for her to 'get in shape'.

I think the Queen fights when the Amazons are probably overwhelmed by the Germans on the beach

What was your reaction to their reaction?

I'd prefer without. And bringing the sequel back to Themyscira provides them with a perfect excuse for not including other heroes (the whole "no guys allowed" thing).

Unless they want to adapt Jeph Loeb's Supergirl saga.

Then all of Diana's friends could stop by to wish her luck.

I just wanted to say thank you for everyone that replied to the pictures I uploaded.
I don't tend to wear something so revealing and I used to be a little bit overweight so I was really self conscious about it, so thank you :)

I don't get the point of limiting the sequel to Themyscira. With superheroes out of shadows after JL.

I agree, I've never been interested in WW in her world; I prefer stories of her in the modern world.
