When did he make this video? Was it a while ago or just now after seeing WW? I haven't watched it yet.

He didn't make the video. Someone compiled a montage of things he has said since WB made it known they were going casting WW until now.

My question to those who have seen the movie already, how does the 3rd act stack up against MOS?? No specifics/details required.

I'm assuming you guys at least liked the destruction porn in MOS 3rd act.

The cognitive dissonance must be strong in him right now : Deep down he really liked her, if he says she was awful, he will be outed as an arrogant liar, but if he admits he was wrong, he loses his tough guy cred :funny::funny:

"She'll never perform in Macbeth or Othello"
Well, to be fair, either will any of the other superheroes with the exception of Cumberbatch and some of the X-Men cast.

It will be funny to see Perri, Kristian, and Mark praise Gal with John just steaming there.

Try to Turn her to our DC side buddy :) That's amazing to hear your wife loved it! I'm so excited sounds like we have a Great Movie! Something to throw down against the competition and say...Boom Here's a Great Movie for ya :woot:

Hahaha, I've really pulled her into the DC world more than I ever thought possible. Her brothers are hardcore Marvel fans, so it's an uphill battle :woot:

It feels so good to finally have a DCEU movie that will be universally appreciated by audiences and critics. It's such a breath of fresh air! Here's hoping JL will be the same. I think the marriage of Snyder's visual styling and epic scale with Whedon's timing and dialogue (brief as it may be) will make for a fantastic film. I cannot wait for the future of the DCEU after seeing Wonder Woman!

LOL. Did he really say that?? I started reading his tweet but then stopped halfway when I saw that even tho he clearly liked what he saw, he was still trying really hard to suppress his appreciation for Gal.

Dude needs to lighten up.

Watch directors cast Gal as Lady Macbeth and Desdemona now. :o

I just can't see why Campea didn't like her. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but she was great! Not one time did I cringe at her delivery or acting. She did just as well as everyone else, which is saying something, because I thought the cast was strong and so were the performances and dialogue. I think he just can't let go of the idea that the forgettable Thor actress will never be Wonder Woman after he opened his mouth and pretended that he knew she was cast.

I do agree with him that she wasn't that good in BvS. However, when he is so far the only person saying anything negative about Gal, and about 100 people saying Gal was great... you do start to wonder if he really thought Gal was not good, or he is just sticking to his guns.

I think Whedon will add a few scenes that would be maximum around 20 to 30 minutes of footage.

And, I'm sure he will try to keep the tone consistent with the rest of the movie.

What I'm excited about is how Whedon's humor in new scenes matches with Terrio's dialogue in the movie. The dialogue part is going to be a blast. :woot:

i knew he would never give her credit it goes against his whole narrative the man went on the record before seeing bvs that even if she was good she was still the wrong casting choice ,then recently on collider movie talk he said the young diana who had about 3 lines in trailer was a better actress.

Just finished listening to the full score (before WB removed it) and it's a much better listen on its own than in the movie. For me, it's second if not on par to the MoS score.

did anyone download it before it got removed? :csad:

My thoughts on Gal. She isn't the strongest actress, but for this role, it grows on you throughout the movie, the couple early scenes I felt were weak, but by the end, you realize that it all fits together nicely.

Chris Pine too me was the strongest actor/actress in the movie though, I don't think we could ask for a better Steve Trevor, I legitimately felt like he was spot on, and in this sense it helps sell Gal Gadot's performance.

They said the reshoots are minor with minimal directing. Without derailing this thread, my guess is they amount upto max 5mins of footage.

I liked Ga lots in BvS and I hope she does a good job in the solo, but I will defend Campea here just a bit since I feel he is EVERYBODY's punching bag online for some reason (and honestly, with the recent Snyder situation I think we should all maybe reconsider the way we discuss figures in the entertainment world in such visceral and over the top and personal ways...).

Gal didn't have huge pedigree in acting before being cast. And what she was in, honestly while I don't think she gave any performance to disqualify her from the role of Wonder Woman, those performances were also not break out, runaway charismatic either. Add in a friendship with an actress that obviously wanted the part and I don't particularly begrudge him his assessment which I also think he's being honest about.

I think I am far from being known as some kind reflexive anti-DCEU guy around here and I have never been a hater of Gal's either. But it seems that some of the anti-Campea sentiment when it comes to Gal is getting to levels with which people attributed to Campea's take on Gal as Diana before he saw WW.

What I find strange is... I don't get the hate for Campea's opinion since watching him for years now my issue has never been that he's an obnoxiously opinionated online personality but that he's more often than not, way too even handed about stuff. I like when he lets loose with a strong opinion, even when I disagree with it.

Thats good to hear.

happy good word is leaing and people are liking gal.i was won over by her in bvs.ww will show more range than what she could do in bvs.some just upset there fantasy pick didn't get cast.

wonder woman is mother of all female superheros so a good successful ww film should be celebrated.

The movie was great. Gal Gadot was absolutely stunning and nailed the part. I feel she brought something to the role that not many could have. Chris Pine was excellent and their chemistry was good. Outside of Peggy/Steve in Captain America this is a well-done example of romance in a comic book movie that actually works. Action, cinematography and pacing were all excellent.

Not so great? The bad guys all were a bit weak as was the final fight. Too been there-done-that. Otherwise, the most well put together DCEU film and the one that will be everyones favourite so far. It certainly is good enough to turn the tide of hate and pessimism regarding the franchise.

He deleted his tweet lol

Why would he do that instead of standing by it? Now it just looks like he is taking back what he said, but it's already out there and people know what he thinks.

He must be sleeping with that Thor actress or something! I just don't understand how you would like her over Gal Gadot who has the Beauty, Accent, Charisma, Army Training, Likablity, love and warmth!! I mean look at that Thor actress interviews and then go watch Gals Wonder Woman press interviews!! Gal is a Shining Star

Keep fighting the good fight for us brother!! She will be bleeding DC in no time!! I can't wait for JL and the continued expansion of our universe! We are on the right path

I actually agree with him on most things. And I've said here, i have not liked Gal's acting.

However. When even just within the last two weeks, when Schnepp read him Marc's tweet about Gal being nuanced and fantastic, Campea flat out said he doesn't believe that one bit. And look, that could have just been Marc's opinion. Marc was going to love this movie and everything about it no matter what. But we've now seen... what... 50 critics or people in the entertainment industry praise Gal's performance? Even Collider's Perri said straight up Gal was fantastic. I've seen other people say things like how they were surprised at how good Gal was. So many people saying Gal owns it and is amazing. Campea is the only verified person who has said a negative thing about Gal in the movie. So when he is the only one, with a ton of people praising Gal, it goes to wonder if he ever actually gave her a chance or not. If he just made his mind up and wasn't going to be swayed.

Even in Criminal, which I haven't seen, but if Gal was mentioned in a review, it was always positive, with some people saying she was the stand out actor in the movie. The worst I read/watched was Kristian, in response to Mark loving Gal in it, said she was "alright". Until Campea said that she was bad in Criminal. Again, going against the grain.

These are just his opinions. Everyone is entitled to them. He may have really just thought she was bad. However, I doubt he went in with an actual open mind about her.

However, people have got to stop attacking him online directly. Don't tweet at him. Don't leave rude youtube comments for him to see. It's just a movie.
