Depends on how its handled. When In Rome is a Catwoman/Selina centric story. Batman is featured, but only in dreams/nightmares that Selina wakes from. It's a solid story. Explores her origins and all that. If they wanted it to work, it would. But we won't be getting a follow up Nolan story anyway.

The ending will certainly dictate how things go forward. I doubt Nolan leaves too much opportunity for spin-offs from his universe.

But, Catwoman hasn't even ever been big enough to be the major villain in a Batman movie. She's always the secondary "villain" or anti-hero ... alongside bigger villains of Penguin, and now Bane. She hasn't been judged big-time enough to carry half of a Batman movie, much less her own franchise.

And, her interplay with Batman is one of the defining characteristics of the character. You lose the Batman influence pulling her back toward the heroic ... you're left with a small-time petty thief in a catsuit, and a pretty mundane movie. The character is largely defined by her relationship to Batman and Bruce Wayne.

I just don't think a Catwoman movie (or cartoon series, or TV show) would work without Batman.

I think she can handle one movie. A franchise? Probably not.

Not unless you morph her into something the character isn't. Like turning her into a heist movie franchise, but those don't tend to do very well.

I dunno, it reads kinda weird. At first I thought it said "high-heeled express feminist your woman-kind fight for your right". It took me about 2-3 reads to figure it out. Kinda sloppy placement of the wording.

Quotes like this kind of piss me off. I doubt you've ever heard of anything of Gaga other than some of her poppy big hits they play on the radio and her meat dress. She actually is a pretty serious artist, and many of her messages and visual themes actually work really well with Catwoman.

Yeah, and that song actually describes pretty much the archetype of the female superhero. But well, one will never be able to change other people's minds, if I shared what I did it's because I thought someone would like the composition and even the quote, didn't even put the words Lady Gaga on it, but anyway, I just know by now I won't share that kind of images here

I don't have much time for Gaga. "Paying tribute" to pretty much everybody. She doesn't have an identity of her own - nor is she a pioneer, as far as I can see.
