What I would give for a movie between TDK and TDKR. Explore those 8 years and have Bats as active during that time, introduce Selina/Catwoman and have her interact already with Bruce/Batman so by the time we reach TDKR their relationship is already developed (be it as enemies/allies/lovers/whatever) and then have one (or even two) villains there. Maybe even add Tate as the new "Rachel".

From how I understood it, he was working on the clean energy project until he discovered that it can be used as a weapon 3 years ago so he mothballed it and then locked himself in the manor since then.

I'm sure fans would be forgiving of that if it meant that we got one more Batman film of his missing years which could also feature Anne's Catwoman.

They could find a way for them both to feature, even if they never learn each other's identities (which they wouldn't be able to anyway) and most of their interactions wouldn't be very intimate but at a distance and through chases. Perhaps during the film, it would show Selina going from a full cowl to realising that it's futile to try to hide her identity because she's been compromised anyway, leading her to want to find this clean slate program.

I would rather have Selina Kyle on her own mostly in a prequel with Holly Robinson. Assuming Jonah Nolan helms the writing, of course, I see Selina living as a part-time high class stripper (instead of prostitute) and full-time jewel thief. A few flashbacks are in order to show off her acrobatic and martial arts background (and whatever she can remember from her biological parents and chaotic upbringing on the streets). Nothing too revealing, in my opinion -- just enough for the audience to chew on. Selina's past should always be engulfed by mystery and darkness. Her psyche should also be explored within the first act -- the wily/cunning, sassy, strong/independent but vulnerable and sympathetic characteristics that we know and love her for.

After her 'origin' has been established, along the way while Selina is grifting/stealing her way through the world and trying to uncover more from her past (biological parents) she runs into a troubled young lady in Holly Robinson (who is in debt with the wrong people -- at first thought to be just a local drug ring). Selina bonds with Holly instantly and decides to help her out by trying to scare off a couple of 'thugs'. It's soon revealed, however, that these gentlemen are not just your ordinary thugs, but members of the Falcone Crime Family.

Now, from here it can get tricky. I personally want a parallel between Selina and her sister (the nun). I would also like to use her for the tragic angle. Selina's actions get her sister killed and her new friend critical injuried by the Mob's assassin (Deadshot or Blackmask). Furthermore, the twist from When In Rome arc could provide a painful resolution and revelation for a Selina Kyle in search of answers.

100% agree. I do wish her dynamic with Bat had been developed more though.

Indeed I'm glad they did JGL/Blake so well. The two things I would have liked more of in this movie were Selina and Bruce scenes and the people of Gotham "rising" after they see the firey bat and join the battle to stop Bane because of his inspiration. But the movie still works without those additions.

I'm confused at one thing though, did Selina drug up the congressman prior to the bar scene since I was wondering on how or why the guy would change into the clothes that he did and willingly go with her plans.lol

Just realized that we didn't really get a BatCat fight or chase scene. It would've been interesting to see what Catwoman's thoughts on Batman are specially during the time when he was active. Her reaction to seeing him back were interesting to say the least.

I agree! I'd like to have seen something along the lines of Brad & Angelina's big scene in Mr & Mrs Smith....where they are really showing off more than anything.

He didn't want to be seen with her as a Congressman. He was considered "Missing" and he wanted to stay hidden. HE WAS CHEATING ON HIS WIFE!!! He dressed like a bum so nobody would really notice him. Yeah, I would like her to target the Falcone family. Also, I want her to seemingly work with some villains (eg the Riddler) but completely double cross him in the end. It would turn out that instead of keeping the money for themselves (which it might seem they're going to do at the start) she uses it to help the poor. There should be several twists and maybe certain things which happen along the way would only be revealed to have been caused by Selina at the end of the film as a means to slow the villains down.

Perhaps she could even lead them all into a trap so that they get caught by the police but she escapes free.

I think adding The Riddler to a Catwoman prequel wouldn't make sense to me considering Edward never appeared or was mentioned in the Nolanverse. I would rather just stick with The Falcones and Deadshot or Blackmask as the only villains in the film (both villains are low-key names).

Technically Edward Nashton was mentioned in a Gotham Times article during TDK's ARG. And they were pretty cannon to the Nolanverse so in my mind it counts for something. Right? t:

The Riddler is still a marquee villain. It wouldn't make sense to feature him in a Catwoman prequel but exclude him in a Batman film. To me, Edward wouldn't fit into Selina's journey anyway.
