Anyone else hate health nuts?

Damn, I never did answer the question....no...I don't hate health nuts. As a matter fact I love the cyclists and runners that go around with their shirts off, all glistening and ****..... :meow:

Best spectator sport in my opinion. :oldrazz:

Na I don't hate health nuts. I hate it when they lay that **** on me as though I have to do it though. **** that, no one tells me what to do.

The way I look at it is this. You are only healthy if you are actually enjoying it. If you enjoy being a fitness fanatic so be it. But I for one am not going to go running, eat a load of crap vegetables that I don't like etc just for the sake of being healthier.

I have a reasonably healthy diet, and my line of work keeps me fit. So why should I go out of my way to be a fitness obsessed person? Why should I sacrifice my enjoyment whether it's eating unhealthy, yet tasty food or just lazing around getting stoned?

I'm sure some people would call me a health nut, but here's the problem I see: It's one thing to take care off yourself--to eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise. It's another thing entirely to talk incessantly about it to everyone you know.

I remember back in college, I generally worked out around the same time as a lady professor, and we would sometimes end up on stair-climbers next to each other. Now, this lady was clearly fit. But, it seemed like every time I ended up next to her, she'd say something to the effect of how much she loved working out--how great it made her feel, stress-relief, and so on. I would just politely nod my head. She'd go on about diet and different exercises. I would chime in just to be polite, but it was actually got to be very annoying. And, that definitely shaped how I talk about the lifestyle I lead.

Basically, if you want to hear about how my workout went or about the kind of diet I live on, you're going to have to ask me about it. I generally don't advertise it. If someone talks about their poor lifestyle as if they're wanting to make a change, I do offer advice on occasion. But, I don't harp on them constantly to change. It would annoy me, so I assume it will only annoy them. That would be counterproductive, so why would I do something like that?

I think some people at work might find me a little weird. I'm not really a health nut, but compared to them I am. They always make comments about me bringing veggies and fruits for lunch, eating apples, yogurt, or smoothies for breakfast, and (try to) turn down offered desserts.

I'll eat out occasionally, and I love cookies, but compared to my coworkers who order out everyday for lunch (burgers or chinese), I am a health nut. So it is all relative.

What happened to moderation? Surely you can eat healthy but spoil yourself every now and then?

I like eating healthier foods, specially things my wife or I make.

it's not the same having a burger for dinner than say, a salad or some cereal, you sleep better and if there's chances of sex, a light but nutritious dinner will help you improve your performance :D

I also love to indulge every now and then in junk and fast food, but it's the exception rather than the norm

besides, last night I was talking with a friend of mine who's starting to suffer from hypertension, and he's a year younger than me, on the other hand, since I started taking on more vegetarian/natural/healthier eating habits, I've lost weight, all my heartburn/hemorrhoids/etc disappeared (I can eat spicy food like when I was in my 20's) and I feel better allover

basically, it's like a lot of people have been stating: moderation is the key

I do want to live a longer, healthier life. mostly because there's so many things yet to see, learn and enjoy, and if your body is in bad condition, what's the point then?

You say you hate health nuts, but all I hear is "jealousy, jealousy, jealousy".

I stay fit and physically active, but I don't always eat "right", I admittedly have weakness for a good burger. Nothing irks me more than some dipstick saying trying to lecture me about how bad something is for my health when I'm trying to enjoy it...Annoying me during my meal isn't exactly good for one health either. :o

Living a healthy lifestyle is great, I just think some people go overboard.

I think some people get lectures out of things that aren't lectures at all.

I found a messageboard totally geared towards people with huge guts and how proud they were of them. anytime one of them lost weight, they'd be sad and the other posters would encourage them to get their weight back up.

Enjoy your high cholesterol and heart conditions then....
I'll stick with my Batman-esque physique....

I think a lot of guys that are younger, aka below 30 have this mindset that they're immune to everything, and that if they can't enjoy life by binging on everything, they'd rather die young. But when you hit them 30s you start to reconsider all that ****.

I can only speak for myself and I don't have that mindset at all. I think if you make sensible choices, do things in moderation and get regular exercise you'll be ok. I just hate when those who work out EVERY day and are on those organice Vegan diets where they don't cook their food give me grief because I wanna stop at In & Out burger once every couple of weeks....

Oh God, if this is true could you please link me. You and I should go there and post pictures of us running, laughing, lifting weights and banging hot chicks:woot:

When I saw Batman Begins, I liked the movie and as for Bale's physique I thought that he did a good job putting the weight back on after doing The Machinist. Then I thought "would I want having a physique like that?" and then I thought in response "I don't mind doing exercises but I know that I cannot continually set aside time to do it, since daily routines have never appealed to me and I like leaving things to chance and appreciate variety. I also know that I would have to lift weights and aside from lifting heavy objects at work, I tend to avoid them off the clock. I also lack the willpower to establish a healthy diet, since there are several foods I enjoy that wouldn't be considered healthy. However, as long as I keep my diet in moderation: that I balance things out, I don't overboard with the junk food, and don't go back for seconds, that can help with dropping a few pounds but not in getting a "super hero physique". Finally, even if I change my mindset and stick to a plan to get that build, that's not a guarantee that I would get the ladies. I have yet to find anything appealing in a relationship and the only family I liked being around was the one I happened to be born into. So self, in the end I'm content with my averageness and thanks a lot for making me having this inner discussion with myself during the movie. I just missed a cool part"

Is it ok if I bang some hot chicks with SB and post the pics over at the fatboards? Puh-leeeaaaase?

Sure, I'll just have to find a new boyfriend to party with and have sex with this weekend :o

That website makes me wish I could workout every second of the day :csad:

1. So being fat is like being gay or Jewish. Got it lol
Yeah, they're a minority which faces massive discrimination by their peers. It's awful:csad:
2. The thread title is already ridiculous, but then I saw doughboy's avatar made me stop reading
Yeah, seriously, he's f---ing naked, WTF? Why would you do that...

I love how they try to JUSTIFY being unhealthy and HUGE with side-stepping the facts. There are plenty of reasons why being fat is unhealthy, and these guys are conveniently "forgetting" those reasons.
