since SDCC will be teasing season 3.......how long until we get some clip? will the CW release it the same day or after

Last year they had the trailer for season 2 out the same day. Not sure if that will be the case this year but if not i'm sure it will find its way to the internet soon after, whether it be CW themselves or someone filming it with their phone.

So, I've been re-watching season 1 and I've been thinking....about the tattoos and scars on Ollie's body. Now, do you guys think the writers had the stories for every scar and tattoo planned from the beginning?

I think they clearly had a plan that they wanted to show in the flashbacks how he got them but I don't think they had/have the stories for each one fleshed out.

Like I don't think they were sitting there discussing ideas for the first season after they heard they were getting picked up and decided Billy Wintergreen would give Oliver a scar or two. I think that when they were writing that episode they decided Billy Wintergreen would scar him.

I hope there are more announcements to come...I wonder if we're getting any other major hero introductions this season.... Hal Jordan..?

We god damn better.

I want Hal in the flashbacks as the person who teaches Hal to fly (I swear in my head when Felicity asked where he learned as it faded to the flashback I heard the "Dun-dun-dun-duuuuunnnnnn" from the movie soundtrack). After they escape from Waller/go their separate ways Ollie mentions in the present that he hasn't heard from Hal since. Then during the end of the season with the speech playing over thematically appropriate clips revealing where the characters are headed, we get a shot of Hal at Ferris air on the wing of one of his Dad's old planes staring at the sky and watches as a shooting star darts across the sky. But we all know that ain't no ****in' shooting star.

I want to see the Question, as it's probably the one way we will see a live action version of the character.

The question could definitely works. Even if he's different from his comic counterpart. The JLU version was the best thing to come out of this show.

Yeah, when Felicity asked Oliver how he learned to fly, Hal Jordan was the first thing that I thought of.

The Question was so awesome on JLU. If we get The Question on Arrow, I'd love for Question and Huntress to interact . It'd be cool if we got something like that Question/Huntress Green Arrow/Black Canary episode of JLU

Same here!

Echoing that which series lead Stephen Amell shared with TVLine at the may Upfronts, the Arrow EP said that the next Big Bad will “feel different” from Season 2′s Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke. That said, the incoming adversary “has some personal elements of connectivity to Oliver, which we’ll learn about” — in part via flashbacks, Berlanti allowed. “Hopefully, fans of the DC Universe will be really pleased by who it is.”

mmm... I wonder if its someone they haven't announced. Or if its Vertigo.

Not really sure I like them doing a flashback/present Big Bad again. Was hoping Slade was going to be the only exception. Because then it just becomes lazy and convenient writing on their part.

Wanted them to go back to the 1st season format of Flashback Big Bad and a Present Day Big Bad.

Other news from that article

Speaking of the show’s flashback device, Berlanti said that Season 3 will “not just flash back from Oliver’s perspective.” As the hit drama has done on rare occasion with the likes of Laurel and Diggle, “There’s some backstory stuff that’s going to come out for some of the other characters.”

Pretty much confirms flashbacks of Sara joining The League.

it seem the flashback is going to be limited.....and more present day

They have delivered two stellar seasons, so I'll be happy with whatever format they adopt.

But he still comes from a flashback and it's the "exactly 5 years ago" format. Was just kind of hoping for a Flashback Big Bad and Present Day Big Bad like Season 1 had with Fryers and Merlyn. Actually I didn't even care if there was a Flashback Big Bad and it was more about him training and going up against VotW.

Well I can't disagree with you there and it will probably be awesome. But I just don't want them to get in the rut of every season the Big Bad is someone that Oliver had dealings with exactly 5 years ago.

I just hope they thought ahead and have a clear idea what to do with their characters this time. None of this having a character disappear for multiple Episodes, because you still don't know in what direction to take them.

Producer never said how personal......could be one time friend and that it....flashback is likely very limited as they said it won't be like Slade Wilson. it really too vague right now.......my guess it will 90% present and 10% flashback....that would be different from Slade.
