The other possible villain is not Vandal Savage. He's the villain for Legends of Tomorrow and they're not going to move him on a "main" show.

I've gotta call Amell out on some things though. He's a tremendous person, a true class act, but he's done his fair share of misleading too. It's a hard position to be in because even if you feel like the project you're working on sucks, you don't want to voice it and piss off the bosses, but sometimes he tries to make certain things seem better than they are. You can't come out and say last season was the best ever when fan reaction throughout has said otherwise.

I think he genuinely believes everything he's been saying. If so, more power to him. He's entitled to his opinion.

I will say that I think he can sometimes come across as kind of pigheaded when it comes to defending the show. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's kind of obnoxious.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I've always wondered what it must feel like to have to work on and compliment a series that you actually think is terrible.

Stuff like that could rub people the wrong way, and in this kind of business, you never want to burn bridges that you may need later on.

With Amell, I can tell he's trying to be respectful to everyone, while still being pretty candid about certain things. But I don't know if he has the type of power or say to make changes in terms of the direction of the show. He doesn't seem like the Tom Welling type, who was apparently very difficult to work with and a bit of a diva.

Well, I don't think it's wrong to stick up for your show and costars. The only thing I have heard was that he didn't like them letting Caity Lotz go. He was right about that and they brought her back. Now, Ryan Reynolds may have just hated GL. As for Tom Welling who knows if he will ever have his own show again sadly enough. Then again. Amell could just be a positive person.

I'm an actor as well. I would never expect him to publicly trash the show. I was just saying that I think his praise is genuine, for better or worse.

Everyone thinks that movie was garbage, though, so he's probably safe. I haven't seen it to this day.

the new suit looks great!i have a good feeling about season 4.i read in a site that its gonna have a lighter tone than the previous seasons and i believe that is a good thing!

I know I'm in the minority but i'm just a TAD disappointed theyre going with a lighter tone now. I thought the dark "Batman-esque"is tone worked well for show and provided a nice contrast to the lighter, funnier Flash.

I liked the dark tone too. I trust the writers and actor though and I have faith that they will do a good job next year.

The problem is that:

-In S3, they forgot how to handle the dark tone. It just became a slog to sit through. The fact that the pre-release promotional stuff teased a more light/fun season didn't help matters.

-They made it TOO MUCH "Batman-lite."

-People want some optimism/light at the end of the tunnel. We've gotten THREE seasons of Oliver being broody, depressed, and having nothing but bad crap happen to him. And after awhile, people get tired of it. They go "are things NEVER going to get better for him? Because if so, why should I keep watching? Nothing ever changes."

True, true. And don't get me wrong, I'm all for a less broody Oliver (in fact Stephen Amell as an actor seems better when he lightens up and not so melodramatic) but I would very much like to keep the noir tone of the show and not have it be bright and sunny like Flash.

A lot of people seem to be worrying about the show losing its identity with it having a lighter tone this year. I don't think they will go overboard with such a change in one season.

It still needs to maintain a portion of that dark element but finally just see Oliver being a bit happier.

Call me cynical, but I can't help but suspect that the producers only feel the need to lighten things up on Arrow because of the success of TF.

I don't think that it's going to be all sunshine and rainbows. Also still going to go through some crap, especially with a villains who's last name is literally "DARK!" But, I think that they'll not make it as unrelentingly bleak/depressing as the show got in S3. You know, let Oliver win from time to time and be happy a little.

Season three wasn't any darker than season two. The darkest thing to come out of last season was the implication that Ra's raped Nyssa's mother, which wasn't given enough attention to even matter.

Really digging the new Arrow costume. Hopefully it's a sign that season 4 will be an improvement over season three.

Now if only the Flash costume would get an upgrade. (I know that they changed the logo, but it still looks cheap).

The first 3 seasons were supposed to be a build up from spoiled early 20s billionaire Oliver to violent vigilante Oliver as the hood then the vigilante then the Arrow but throughout all of it, it had appropriate flash backs showing things that happened in the past that shaped his present. Oliver started on the revenge type thing, wanting to make people on a list pay for being bad people but things changed when he found out largely the list was a joke.

Oliver started out with the hood as a killer, killing people almost as often as subduing them. Oliver decided not to be a killer anymore but still kept going down that violent path and even potentially burning some bridges along the way in hopes that the ends would justify the means. I believe Season 4 will be where things really start moving in the direction they need to be because the story of how he became the Green Arrow is complete and he's at peace with all of it finally at the end of Season 3.

I think the show is just getting started at this point as the first 3 seasons felt more like character development more so than an attempt as superb story telling. Everything is done and ready, now it's just a matter of waiting for Season 4 and see how things go.

Comic Con 2015: Arrow's Emily Bett Rickards Hopes Felicity Stops Crying So Much in Season 4
"It was a big disappointment."

If you felt Felicity was too mopey and crying too much in Arrow Season 3, Emily Bett Rickards agrees with you.

During Comic Con's roundtable interview with the Arrow star (via io9), Rickards expressed her disappointment with all of her character's crying and hopes for a more stronger portrayal of the character in the upcoming fourth season.

"She felt like she was crying a lot. I feel like she went through a year that wasn’t necessarily her favorite. I agree. I feel like she lost a little bit of her strength to a certain extent," she said.

"Hopefully, she gets funnier again because I don’t want to see her crying all of the time," Rickards continued. "It was a big disappointment to me to have her crying a lot—because one thing I love about Felicity so much is that she’s so strong and independent and sticks to her guns and is true to herself."

joke apart, I love the new suit, I can't wait to see Gardigg, and I'm all for a lighter tone, especially if it means they will stop trying to make Oliver batman lite.

We also need him to become socially aware like in the comics.

I'm hopeful this season will be a great one.
