Guys, so why is everyone suddenly assuming it's [BLACKOUT]Laurel[/BLACKOUT]? What's the source of this?

It's a Slade centric novel?

Guys where can I get this spoilerific information?

Yes. It's a retelling of S2, somewhat, but it gives the backstory of what Slade, Rochev, and Blood were doing between the time Slade got his eye poked out on Amazo and the time he showed up in S2. It also gives Rochev's origins, a year or so before the Queen's Gambit set sail, I believe. So it's the backstory of the main villains of the season, plus a retelling from their POV.

Canadagraphs who paps a lot of the show and has been fairly reliable says 4x19 is titled
canary cry

Hmmm...maybe they kill off Earth One Black Canary, and introduce Earth 2 who goes by Dinah and actually has the Canary Cry powers?

yeah there usually a double meaning for the title.

It likely Laurel could be crying for someone else death like her father

That is a good theory and more likely IMO (I haven't seen the photos). Personally, I hope it is neither of them. They are two of my favourite characters.

But if it is Lance...[BLACKOUT]why is he apparently at the funeral, and Laurel isn't?[/BLACKOUT] I'd rather it be him than her, though I really don't want to lose him. Like at all. But better that way than [BLACKOUT]killing off the BLACK CANARY.[/BLACKOUT]

I...hmm.

Hmm.

I have mixed feelings about this. Will have to ponder.

Was Moira, Sara or Theas death leaked or strongly rumoured before they happened? Also, were there many rumours last year about Colton wanting to leave? I am just wondering if they are good at keeping this stuff quiet. I think I remember Emily not being seen on set last year which made people suspicious that she was killed.

All those deaths weren't really announced thus people weren't looking for a death to happen. It's the exact opposite this year.

I remember Colton being rumored to leave, but no one really believed it until it happened. It was rumored only because of a few cast pics that didn't include him, so it was more speculation than anything.

I remember last year Stephen or Colton tweeting about something being very emotional, which made people suspicious that someone died.

There was also the tweet from Blackthorne about capturing something for last time, and it was a photo of Arrow, Arsenal and Black Canary in costume.

Roy is gone because Colton wanted to leave, so it would be harsh to blame the writers for that.

Roy was all on the producers.

Should have gotten someone that could committ to more than 2 years

I don't mind Roy leaving. I just hate the way he didn't do much all season.

Even the whole Colton things seems a bit fishy to me but either way, they knew the charecter was coming to an end and they barely did anything with him. It's like deja vu.

I just don't understand the logic of killing off Laurel. Truth is, if Guggenheim does it because he just doesn't like KC, then he needs to be replaced by someone who can run the show properly (probably should be anyway). There's no legitimate reason to kill her off now, and in fact it would be a huge waste.

Thinking about it, Lance's character arc this season has really leaned more toward him being the one to die than Laurel. If they kill her off after all that time of her and Oliver telling Lance she can take care of herself, then Lance was right to worry and work for Darhk. It would be miserably foolish of them to do that. Whereas Lance's arc–Oliver telling him how much he looks up to him, coming around and helping Team Arrow and trusting them again, defying Darhk, falling in love with Donna–these are things you do to a main character before they die. You wrap up their arc in a nice little bow. You don't waste them like they did Laurel.

But I'd grant that having Nyssa at the funeral definitely does hold some serious weight...

I agree that Quentin's death would make more sense. If they do kill Laurel and it was the writers choice and not an order from DC, I will be very unhappy.

Agreed. It won't kill the show for me but why would they do that? It's ridiculous. And it would mean probably the rest of the show we'd be stuck with constant Olicity drama (unless they introduce a new female lead to replace Laurel, which if so why not just keep her?), and in the long run that's just going to be migraine-inducing.

It's [BLACKOUT]Quentin[/BLACKOUT]. [BLACKOUT]His[/BLACKOUT] story is pretty much done, and seems like the most "expendable" kind of character. Although, I don't REALLY see Oliver CRYING for [BLACKOUT]Quentin,[/BLACKOUT] sorrowful for sure, but crying I dunno...

Can people please stop acting like Laurel's hypothetical death would somehow be ordered by studio execs? It demonstrates willful ignorance, especially after I already explained why it's something that would never happen.

For a forum full of supposedly 'in the know' comic-book fans and geeky types, there's a rather large lack of actual common-sense understanding of how television production and writing actually works being demonstrated right now.

well MG made a twitter reply about Laurel saying he love katie and he loves the Black Canary is he lying? maybe? he did you won't believe me.....so 16 days after that tweet? evidence of her not in present day set indicate she will die?

Arrow had to kill Deadshot right when the show was doing some interesting stuff with him because the character was going to be in the suicide squad movie, same happened to Amanda Waller. Is not that weird to think WB may have told the showrunners to kill Laurel if Black Canary is going to be included in the DC film universe. I don't think it has happened because I haven't read any news about Black Canary being in any of the films, but if it ever happened, Laurel would probably die in Arrow. Honestly, I was surprised when they showed Katana in an episode and didn't kill her, seeing how they are casually killing off any character that happens to be in both Arrow and any of the DC movies. My theory is that Katana got a pass because she doesn't have a super-famous actress playing her in the film universe.

Based the high quality of those pics you have a choice.

A: You can believe the Arrow show runners are totally incompetent in letting this get out or
B: They are being clever & released pics of a fake funeral.

I am at 65% A and 35% B right now.
