Um, they had a Flash show in the 90's that did just fine. Technology has advanced since then.
Highly, debatable on "doing just fine". I guess we'll see, but I don't feel optimistic.

Oliver Queen may have plenty of new enemies in "Arrow" Season 2, but at least one old foe will make a return: China White (Kelly Hu) will return to the superhero series in the second episode of the season.
"Arrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed the return of the Triad assassin at the TCA press tour in Los Angeles on Monday (July 29). While he didn't give too many details about how China White will fit back into the show's world, Guggenheim did give a little bit of context about the appearance.
"Kelly Hu is absolutely coming back. She comes back in episode 2," Guggenheim said. "She not only comes back, but we were dead-set on not just bringing back China White, but bringing back China White and showing her in a new way and with a new dimension than just what we did last year. There's no point in bringing her back, just to repeat same-old, same-old. We do one new scene where you go, 'Ooh! That's a China White we didn't see last year.'"
While Hu's China White is the only confirmed Season 1 villain to make more trouble, fans can expect other old foes to reappear in the second season. "Part of the enjoyment of Season 2 for us is how do you combine the old -- not the old -- but the Season 1 villains with the new Season 2 villains," Guggenheim hinted. "That's part of the fun of the show. It's part of the fun of any superhero show. The superhero mythos, the rogues' gallery. I think we've done a fairly okay job of rounding out his rogues' gallery, and it's about building onto that in Season 2."
What about the ultimate Season 1 villain, Malcolm Merlyn? Will he be back -- remember, the audience never saw Malcolm's body after Oliver beat him in the season finale. While Guggenheim wouldn't give too many details, John Barrowman will definitely return to the show in some form.
"We've confirmed that John Barrowman is coming back," said Guggenheim. But then the producer added, "We are a show that does flashbacks."
The one detail Guggenheim did give about Malcolm Merlyn's return is that he will be interacting with Oliver. "I don't think it's spoiling anything to say that John Barrowman's scenes will be with Stephen [Amell]," Marc Guggenheim hinted.
The question is: Will Oliver and Malcolm interact in the show's present or in the past? Only "Arrow" Season 2 holds the answers to that.
The way the Flash uses speed should look and work differently than they do with Faora or any other krypotonian. I always thought the speed force was a pretty cool concept and I hope they can use that in a fresh but familiar way.
Faora would stop and take out each soldier, I hope they portray Flash differently. From his perspective, sure it could look different. But to the outside observer, I think it resembling MOS speed makes sense.
If Malcolm's mysterious mentor on Nanda Parbat was Ra's or Vandal Savage, there's his way back right there.
Don't know how to feel about this. I don't think that TV budgets can do justice to the special effects needed to portray Flash's super speed. TV is really more suited for street level heroes like Green Arrow, so I would rather that Flash had his rumored movie in 2016 instead. (What happens to that now BTW?)
They need to translate the Super Max script into an entire season later on
Except the constantly shifting prison, Dinah trying to prove Oliver's innocence from the outside, and the wide assortment of crazy supervillains for Oliver to face. How would it be that different from the Island storyline? Anything they can do with the Super Max concept, they could probably replicate with the Island.

It could be AMAZING.
