Glad to see this thread is back on track after some of the garbage I read last night in the one that is closed.

Are they making a new Wonder Woman series? Wasn't one canceled not so long ago?

They made a pilot for NBC that was pretty bad and never got picked up. They're trying a different one for CW.

Man, I'm so looking forward to see Deathstroke kicking ass.

Apart from the dissapointing fight between Arrow and China White (Not likely Kelly Hu's fault Guard) I thought episode 2 was a step up, especially in the acting.

I enjoyed the scenes with Ollie and Thea most, but I felt his development with Diggs, who has not aknowledged the fact that a supposedly soft rich boy choked him out last week, was interesting and it seems likely Diggs will be in on his secret and his ally before too long.

In general I think Amell is doing a good job in the role, it requires a certain intangible as Hugh Jackman once said about playing an action lead, and I think he has enough of it.

The cop needs to simmer down a notch but I thought the scenes with him and Laurel were pretty good and Katie Cassidy is doing fine, but I agree her sidekick needs to either improve or be replaced.

I like Katie Cassidy. She can only get better. But the stuff with her dad.. and most of the conversations in general thus far..I don't know, maybe it's just the dialogue in the script and not the actors themselves, but it felt soap-operaish, to me.

Diggle is cool and I like the interactions between him and Oliver. The worst thing Amell has going for him is that damned voice over. Can't stand it. I think they did it less ep. 2 than the pilot, but I just want to watch him do what he has to do, not talk about it like the audience is a bunch of idiots, imho.

It also feels like it's only a matter of time before we get the obligatory confrontation between him and tommy merlyn (who i can't stand so far) about laurel and that doesn't really do nothin for me.

I am interested in the archer from the preview though. I was hoping Deathstroke would have more of a mask along the lines of Teen Titans. Something more solid and not cloth like. Still, he looks pretty cool and can't wait to see him on screen. I hope his debut lives up to the potential of the stills that have been shown.

**I agree about Ollie/Thea I think think the stuff with them was the best character stuff we've gotten so far though. Holland has come along way since The OC and her lines thus far are stinging and sound genuine. I think they have developed a good chemistry even from the pilot to ep. 2 that hasn't really clicked quite yet with ollie and the rest of the characters he interacts with, save diggle.

We'll see what Deathstroke is made of in the November sweeps.

So considering they said we would be getting Island flashbacks for the whole series, I wonder just how many people Ollie will run into on this island?

As long as there aren't polar bears or smoke monsters, we'll be okay.

I can't help but feel with this show though that it's typical WB where they just keep remaking the same things they've already done before instead of doing something new. We've already had one version of Green Arrow on Smallville where he was covered fairly extensively, and now we're just getting a new iteration.

Except the previous version sucked and didn't do justice to the character. This one has the potential to handle the character well.

Interestingly enough, I think the CW's trademark contemporary, urban style would mesh well with Wonder Woman. And its female-skewing demographic would respond well to her.

I'm curious if anybody is in the same position as me on this: anything involving Oliver and Green Arrow are pretty interesting, but the second Dinah Lance gets her own scenes I just tune out. She's just not nearly as interesting a character and reeks of CW.

Diana the Vampire Slayer? wait that's not right..xD

One thing I have to hand to them is that the costume looks great. Especially when he is suiting up. That was one of the problems I had with smallville. The costumes were poorly designed it took me right out of the show.

I think the way it is with the comics now, making her the daughter of zeus and introducing a bunch of gods would be a good hook for the series. Her protecting humanity against the gods.

That said, it will be difficult to pull off because wonder woman requires a much higher budget on tv than street heroes do.

Xena did it, WW can do it. Dont have to give her flight, super streangth is easy to pull off. Just find the right costume designer and you are good to go. Gods dont really need that much special effects. Throw in the occassioanl monster which doesnt need to be 100% passable and you are good to go. Or just go the Supernatural way and have most of them be entitys that take over human hosts.

Xena was the first thing that popped into my head too. And super strength is easy to pull off, as you said. Throw in mythological beasts from the Xena show, make fights as exciting as Clark vs Titan from Smallville, throw in a dash of Supernatural or Buffy, with all the magic mumbo jumbo and you're pretty much good to go.

Whenever I see Clark battled Titan in Smallville, I think of Mongul than Doomsday.

If Arrow does well in the November Sweeps, we should hear about a full season order.

I don't think it'll take that long. Given the high premiere ratings (highest since The Vampire Diaries in '09), I'm betting it's just a matter of time.

Wow what was the garbage that was on here?

Vampire Diaries has been on since '09? Man time flies lol.

Ollie had to think he killed Deathstroke for his mask being set up the way it is before he's rescued. Perhaps Deathstroke does indeed show up in Starling City, but I think Ollie will at least think he's killed Deathstroke.

I know that's why I said that lol.

I think the problem is they made her to be the show's second lead. Her role should have been much smaller, since she's basically Rachel Dawes in this. It does reek of CW, but it's nothing unexpected. Same execs behind this show.

All would have been forgiven if she had just busted out some kind of future-Black Canary skills during that home invasion scene, but nope, not one. She really is just Rachel Dawes 2.0 in this.

That would have made things worse actually. Busting out random fighting skills from out of nowhere. I'm okay with her being the damsel in distress, but they really need to work on her dialogue.
