Who did you PM?

...So, I gotta ask, anyone else think this should have been 'Bat' instead of 'Arrow' or is it just me?

Batman has a very successful and lucrative film franchise. I don't think you want to risk that by having a TV series that could confuse fans with two different live action Batmans.

I don't watch the show but that sounds like how two guys would talk when hanging out which is why probably you and other guys who watch the show can relate and not find it dull. The drama focus in Arrow is skewed from the side of the girls issues with Ollie, he so far has mostly just said sorry and looked lost for words in his interaction with them.

Unlike many on this forum I have no problem with strong female characters and I'd like to think Thea and Laurel will develop beyond their petulant and bitter phases respectively.

Laurel is a lawyer and I'd like to see her involved in the Arrow parts of the show, approaching the people he is going after from the angle of the law, to this point it might have been better if she was an investigator for the DA's office instead of a legal aid worker.

With Thea I know the fanboys want comic accurate Speedy, but I very much doubt they kill Thea off and given what the actress has said the best shot of Thea getting over her emotional hump is to join Ollie in his fight. I actually felt they regressed her this week after the good scenes with her and Ollie last week.
There's nothing wrong with strong female character...the problem is that Arrow doesn't seem to have any at the moment. They're all just cookie-cutter cut-outs: Dinah (and I will only refer to her by that name) is never actually shown doing any real work, though she and her sassy friend certainly talk about it, and she of course is an expert martial artist. Ollie's sister is a teen with an attitude, although her character seems to have far more growing potential.

And don't even get me started on the mother. She's a walking cliche. Now a character like Diggle's sister-in-law has enormous potential. A lot of interesting opportunities can come out that (although her acting certainly wasn't the best).

I dunno... I think having Laurel as a legal aid rather than working in the DA's office is useful in that it allows a wider variety of cases for her to handle. In theory, she could be defending the wrongly accused as much as going after the corrupt and guilty. Where as if she was with the DA, then prosecuting the guilty would be the only kind of cases the show could feature her in.

Moreover, I think it helps cement her motivation better; especially in contrast to Ollie. Both fight crime, pursue justice and right wrongs. However, Ollie does it to punish the guilty where as Laurel seems more focused on helping the victims.

As such, this diversity helps the show better explore and flesh out a plotline much more easily.

this would be awesome

Wish the UK aired at the same time as the US, I'd be able to come in here more often... Especially since we have a sub-forum now

:hehe:

Even though I know it 99% wouldnt happen, it would be somewhat cool for them to have Barbara Gordon appear as a friend to Dinah and maybe have her more as Oracle than Batgirl.

I wouldn't cancel anything out in regards to this show now. Before Wednesday I could have promised you that it would be a while before Dingle found out, that Laurel didn't know karate, and that Speedy/Thea wouldn't have a drug problem. Now after Wednesday's episode I don't know what to expect.

I'm sure next week we may get a new non-powered hero.

Something that always bugs me about Batman stories/this show is that any of the "evidence" that Ollie gives to the cops is completely inadmissible in a court. The recording from last episode, the laptop from this one...those are useless to the cops because they weren't lawfully obtained.

I might be wrong but I think only the police need to obtain evidence through legal means. A 'concerned citizen' is allowed to voluntarily steal something and hand it over to police. Of course, technically, the cops would then be supposed to charge said person for theft as well.

Of course, in the case of the confession, a good lawyer would point out that it is unreliable as it was made under duress.

So far, I think this show is more promising than Smallville was. Some of the drama is over-hammed, but I expected that from a CW show.

I did not expect the awesome fight scenes, parkour stunts or the great island plot mysteries. But really, I can't say enough good things about the fights. They're very Bourne Identity—and with the budget they must be working with, incredibly damn impressive.

Show is just getting better and better. Hope it holds up.

For me I am not really interested in the bringing in all comic elements and killing his family members just to fit into the mould. I say this because Green Arrow has only had a handful of good comics.

Giving him a family brings a unique dynamic that very few heroes have.
