If I were cockney, I might think this show were about a posh public boys school in North London.

There's nothing wrong with strong female character...the problem is that Arrow doesn't seem to have any at the moment. They're all just cookie-cutter cut-outs: Dinah (and I will only refer to her by that name) is never actually shown doing any real work, though she and her sassy friend certainly talk about it, and she of course is an expert martial artist. Ollie's sister is a teen with an attitude, although her character seems to have far more growing potential.
And don't even get me started on the mother. She's a walking cliche. Now a character like Diggle's sister-in-law has enormous potential. A lot of interesting opportunities can come out that (although her acting certainly wasn't the best).
I dunno... I think having Laurel as a legal aid rather than working in the DA's office is useful in that it allows a wider variety of cases for her to handle. In theory, she could be defending the wrongly accused as much as going after the corrupt and guilty. Where as if she was with the DA, then prosecuting the guilty would be the only kind of cases the show could feature her in.
Moreover, I think it helps cement her motivation better; especially in contrast to Ollie. Both fight crime, pursue justice and right wrongs. However, Ollie does it to punish the guilty where as Laurel seems more focused on helping the victims.
As such, this diversity helps the show better explore and flesh out a plotline much more easily.

Who's training who? I think it would be a good idea for Arrow to have a better CQC weapon like sticks rather than use his bow, as hitting people with it and blocking strikes would probably damage it for it's real function.
For me I am not really interested in the bringing in all comic elements and killing his family members just to fit into the mould. I say this because Green Arrow has only had a handful of good comics.
Giving him a family brings a unique dynamic that very few heroes have.
So can we start individual episode threads now?
Green Arrow fans, I have a question.
I'm rocking a modified/mixture (part comics/part tv show) Green Arrow costume for Halloween strictly from what I just bought at a few thrift stores. I bought long green gloves and I could've sworn I found something that said Ollie in the comics had the thumb and pinky parts of the glove cut off but now I can't find any evidence they're like that. What do Ollie's gloves look like if they have fingers exposing?
I really like what I've put together so far for the outfit even though its far from perfect, but I want to get the gloves right.
I hope they dust off the Super Max script now and get that film made...especially if DC had a similar film universe to Marvel.
This would be a really good year for DC to do a Green Arrow dtv. Time for them to stop with just giving us Batman/Superman/JL every year.
I might be wrong but I think only the police need to obtain evidence through legal means. A 'concerned citizen' is allowed to voluntarily steal something and hand it over to police. Of course, technically, the cops would then be supposed to charge said person for theft as well.
Of course, in the case of the confession, a good lawyer would point out that it is unreliable as it was made under duress.
"Green Arrow: Escape from the SuperMax" is pretty good, but it's based on the fact that Oliver Queen is a human stuck in a prison filled with superpowered beings. It wouldn't fite the tone they've worked so hard to achieve in "Arrow".
One of the main concerns I have is that when you have a 22 episode season its very hard to keep quality up.
I know the writers have mentioned they have a 5 year plan, should the show keep ratings. With that said, I really don't want to see this show continue past that. Looking at smallville I just felt like 10 seasons was way to much. They could have had 5 great seasons if they condensed the story and had less filler episodes.
I really love the idea of a season set in a prison. Or at least part of a season. Hopefully we'll get more super powered beings in the future as well. Someone like Killer Frost would be great.
I would love to eventually get some super powered characters into the show. Maybe start small, just with someone who has super strength. Nothing too special effects heavy or hooky looking. Maybe portray super powers like they did on heroes. Nothing cartoony like Smallville.
I doubt they'll introduce superpowered characters.
Vandal would be great. Would be cool to see him pull Ollie's arrow out of his heart.
