I like how John Diggle went by the code name "Green Lantern" in that episode. Nice nod to GL fans. I wonder if his middle name is Stewart?

I guess it was some Slade or Blood goon that knocked him out since Slade was taunting Oliver about it.
The episode was kind of boring. I was much more interested in Oliver and Slade than Diggle and his Suicide Squad.
I wonder if they'll have Amanda enlisting the Suicide Squad to help Oliver take down Slade and company.
Now the only question that I have is...who the heck knocked down Diggie from the last episode? I was pretty sure that it was one of Waller's goons, who would bring Diggie to Waller at the start of this episode.
Also, anyone else find it strange on how Oliver never once asked where Diggie was and all that?
The fact that Shrapnel died off screen made me think momentarily that he might be back again.(I mean was it really that expensive to show a car blowing up?) But he's probably not that compelling a character to earn an eventual return.
I believe one of the show's producers confirmed, recently, that Shrapnel is definitely dead and the only reason why his death was "off-screen" was because they wanted to show it from Diggie's POV.
Servicable episode, honestly a bit disappointed it wasn't a full-on Suicide Squad focused episode but I apperciate fleshing out more backstory between Diggle and Lyla, not to mention developing Floyd as a character, will be interesting to see the squad appearing again, but then make Deadshot the leader and maybe use Clock King as one of the member. The build they have to Oliver's inevitable showdown with Slade's going to be amazing.
Which essentially translates as currently, (assuming said producer is being honest in the first place) Shrapnel is allegedly dead and that they don't have any plans for the character. The off-screen death leaves the option open should the creators decide to bring the character back at some point in the future.
Besides, professional bomb-maker killed by a bomb. That's either poetic justice or a way out. It stands to reason that Shrapnel, knowing full well that he has a bomb in his head, would know how to prevent it from being remotely detonated.
