The Dark Knight Rises As for the end of the third (and maybe the last) movie...

I can't find the quote, but a great Batman writer once said something to this effect:

"There is only one way to end a Batman story, with him on top of a building seeing the signal and going off to his next mission"

I personally agree :)

not bad though i would hope it ends with the signal in the air and batman diving into a group of thugs to defend some people...screen fades to black...

What would you guys think of Batman being publicly unmasked or unmasked to a certain character (ie: Gordan). I think it would be an interesting concept to end the trilogy. But he still goes out and fights crime, despite his identity being revealed, as if his only persona is now batman.

Would be fine with Gordon.

Iron Man already revealed his identity to public in his movie.

It would not work for Batman, either. Unlike IM he's not only got the Joker to think of but the entire Gotham underworld would kill Bruce in his sleep.

Inside Arkham Asylum.

INT. The Riddler’s Celt

RIDDLER
Riddle me this… riddle me…that…I know… who’s the man… behind the bat….hahahaha HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

EXT. The Riddler’s Celt

Batman and Gordon looking behind the glass of the door

GORDON
Will that be trouble for you?

BATMAN
I know people like him, Jim, he wants to keep that to himself, to know he’s the only one that knows the answer to the biggest riddle in Gotham City…

GORDON
If you can, take a look to the sky in the morning…

BATMAN
Anything new?

GORDON
Just something I want you to see

BATMAN
No more freaks running around?

GORDON
Well, the Cat-woman is still at large…

BATMAN
She will be no trouble… how about the Joker, knowing that freak I am sure he will try to escape…

GORDON
His last therapist went to live to San Francisco, that poor man ended up really bad… but this girl wants the job, Harleen Quinzelle, I’m sure she can handle him…

BATMAN
How ‘bout the mob?

GORDON
With Maroni and Sofia Falcone death there’s nothing much to tell… the city I am safe to tell… it’s quite peaceful now…

BATMAN
I’m happy to hear that

GORDON
Well, my friend, I got to go… my wife’s waiting

He looks at his watch, and looks to Batman again. He’s not there

GORDON
Goodnight my friend…

Cut to.

Gotham City East End

EXT. Selina Kyle’s penthouse. Night

The Cat-Woman’s sitting on the edge of the rooftop, Mask less.

CATWOMAN
This is not the Gotham Central Building

The Batman emerges from the shadows.

BATMAN
And this is not two hours ago, Selina…

She stands up and looks at Batman

CATWOMAN
Needed to tell me something?

BATMAN
I thought you should know… The Riddler knows who you are…

CATWOMAN
The hell with that… he’s just some weird freak who likes green too much

BATMAN
He might try to blackmail you…

CATWOMAN
Just say it Bruce… you want me to call you back, come on, just give yourself a chance (she puts her arms around Batman)

BATMAN
Selina…

CATWOMAN
How ‘bout just having a normal life, far away from Gotham, far away from, freaks, and even maybe, without masks…

They kiss.

BATMAN
Take care, Selina, the east is dangerous…

CATWOMAN
I am a big girl, Bruce, I can take care of myself…

BATMAN
I’ll see you next…

CATWOMAN
You’ll be hearing a lot from me…

She walks to the edge of the building

Batman walks to her, grabs her from the arm and kisses her again.

CATWOMAN
Wow… you can never get enough, take care, Bruce…

BATMAN
Goodbye, Selina

She jumps from the building

The Batman jumps back

VOICE OFF (BATMAN)
I made a promise….

EXT. Gotham Streets. Batman Running

VOICE OFF (BATMAN)
To my parents…

Batman jumps from a building

VOICE OFF (BATMAN)
That I would…

Batman running through the emergency stairs of a building

VOICE OFF (BATMAN)
Rid the city of the evil that took their lives

Batman standing on the rooftop of a tall building. The dawn rises.

VOICE OFF (BATMAN)
This is my city, where I was born, twice, and where I’ll probably die, alone or not… I’m Batman…

The red clouds of the dawn take the shape of a bat, the bat signal rises again.

THE END.

BATMAN III

A new suit so fans can ***** and complain about it? No thanks, lol :)

LOL, that's sooo right there p4poetic

i think we really really REAAAAAAAAAAALLYYY need to see Batman get broken down a weeee bit more in the next on and get that epic scene of him goin to his parents graves and crying, doubtin himself, then eventually becoming the HERO that Gotham needs.

and it ending as Batman being its cities greatest defender,

the goddamn batman

they need to end as they always do, batman and gordon speaking and then batman jumping off the rooftop and gordon happy to see the city backing the dark knight once again

Besides seeing Batman redeemed in the eyes of the public, I think by the end of the third film we should see Batman no longer as the angsty avenger stumbling through the Beginning of his quest or the embattled and morally conflicted Dark Knight but as the stoic and hardened crusader of the comics and the animated series. The ideal ending is one that resolves the character as the fully matured Dark Knight assuaged of his guilt and doubt but still establishing that this is not the end but merely the end of the beginning:

Think Batman peering over Gotham City, sirens start blaring down below, over the police scanner in his helmet he hears the report “the Joker has escaped from Arkham, repeat…” and off in the distance the Batsignal illuminates the sky, Batman leaps from his perch and into the city streets. Fade to black, Title, end credits.

I see your point, but my idea was that Bruce essentially would no longer be Bruce but Batman. He would no longer live a normal life, but commit his life to crime fighting. That would probably be a stretch and risky to do for further story telling purposes, but I think that would be as dramatic as anything else that could happen.

I hope Robin appears as well as Mr.Freeze and other villians like Catwoman,The Riddler and the Penguin and I would also like to see the Batplane or Batwing again. I always liked Batman's plane as well as the Batmobile and I hope it's based on Dark Victory. And I hope the third Batman won't be the last movie. I hope there's another trilogy where Robin(Dick Grayson) evolves into Nightwing and Tim Drake becomes the next Robin at the end of the trilogy and I would like to see Batgirl again as well but have her be Commisoner Gordon's daughter Barbara like in the comics and not Alfred's neice like in Batman and Robin.

^^I guess you are wishing for a tv series, not a movie franchise.

Frankly, to have Robin, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, the Riddler, the Penguin AND a Batwing ine ONE flick... you are asking for trouble.

And I personally don't want to see MORE gadgets and bat-transportation. We're fine with the batpod and the batmobile (well, I'm assuming Batman will make a new car) and adding a bat-boat or bat-copter is way too "batman: the funny 60's series", IMHO.

i would like new villains introduced (my favs are Riddler or Bane or both). but i think there is only one logical way to end this trilogy with a bang...................Joker.

or firefly. he does that stuff too

As for me, I want the third to be the heroic one, i mean the first was his rise the second was kind of a fall, he picked himself up in the end but i really want the third to be the kick ass heroic batman flick, focus more on batman...cause no villain exept for the joker is as interesting as the batman!

yeah he was more then awesome thats true....but to me batman and joker are number one........but i just want there to be some more heroic moments with batman in the end..... i mean why is no one around here complaining about the fact that nolan and zimmer were to stupid to put music to the car/pod chase!?.......that could have been heroic as hell........still a great scene..but it could have had more impact

Bruce overlooking his parents grave and the shadow f tbatman thing sounds like the way to close it out and then a long pull back of batman overloking Gotham from a building.

Are you linking to your own computer..?

Joker is number 1 since he's Batman's arch-enemy.

Many of his other enemies are interesting characters in their own right.

but i just want there to be some more heroic moments with batman in the end.....

You don't need Joker to accomplish that.

Nolan isn't Michael Bay.
